Remotely Monitor a Large Area for Water Leaks

Monitor for water leaks in a large area, such as along a wall, door, or swimming pool, with the Sensaphone WSG30 Wireless Zone Water Detection Sensor. This wireless sensor works with the Sensaphone WSG30 Wireless Sensor Gateway (sold separately), allowing you to receive leak alerts from anywhere you have internet access.

The sensor comes with a 10-foot water-sensing rope (Water Rope) that can be used to surround a large area or to line a perimeter. When water touches any part of the rope, an alarm condition is transmitted to the Gateway. The monitored area can be extended by attaching up to 9 additional lengths of Water Rope (sold separately) to the end of the single included Water Rope.

Installation Details

The sensor can be mounted on a wall close to the area to be monitored or it can sit directly on a flat surface. The Water Rope connects to the sensor via a connector on the side of the sensor's enclosure. It can be secured using the included self-adhesive cable clamps.

The sensor includes three AA alkaline batteries to provide wireless power for up to two years. An optional plug-in 5VDC power supply (sold separately) can be used to reserve the batteries for backup power in case of a power outage.

The WSG30 series of wireless sensors have a standard wireless range of 300 feet from the Gateway. However, they also feature mesh networking technology, which allows each sensor to be used as either a wireless sensor/router or as a low-power battery operated sensor (also referred to as an end point). When used as a router, greater wireless ranges can be achieved, because each sensor/router in the network adds another 300 feet of range to the system.
