X10 is a versatile home automation technology that uses your home's existing electrical wiring to remotely control lights, appliances, security systems, pools and much more. The X10 commands travel from X10 transmitters to X10 receivers through standard household wiring. No new wiring required! With additional wireless devices, the home automation opportunities are endless.
A Basic X10 System Includes A Transmitter & Receiver
Start with X10 Transmitters: Transmitters are control devices that send X10 signals through your home's electrical wiring to X10 Receivers. X10 Transmitters can be plug-in devices, or can be installed directly into your home's electrical wiring.
Add X10 Receivers: When a Receiver receives a command, it responds by turning a light, appliance or other electrical device On or Off, and sometimes Dim or Bright. Like Transmitters, Receivers come in plug-in or wire-in options.
Expand with X10 Wireless: Wireless X10 Transmitters broadcast RF control signals to Transceivers, which plug into standard wall outlets. The Transceiver then converts the RF signal into an X10 signal and transmits the command to your X10 Receivers.
