The BLU Motion Sensor uses two modes of operation: Regular Mode and Beacon Mode. Regular mode has the BLU Motion Sensor send notifications when movement is detected, light level changes, and the battery runs low. Beacon mode has the BLU Motion Sensor continuously report any motion detection status, light level, and battery status every 30 seconds. You can adjust the intervals between detection events or freely switch between modes from the Shelly Smart Control application.

Installation Details

The Shelly BLU Motion Bluetooth Motion Sensor mounts onto flat surfaces using the included adhesive tape. To ensure optimal signal strength, the Sensor should be placed within range of a compatible Shelly Gateway device or Bluetooth-compatible hub network. Once installed, pair the device with the Shelly Smart Control application by pressing and holding the push button on the back of the sensor for 10 seconds. This same process is used to pair the sensor with another.

The Shelly BLU Motion Bluetooth Motion Sensor is not a standalone device, it must be paired with a compatible gateway such as the Shelly BLU Gateway, or any Shelly Plus, Pro or Gen3 device (excluding sensors).
