Program Lights In Occupied Or Vacant Rooms

Trigger various smart devices in your building with the Leviton Smart Ceiling Mount Sensor! This multi-technology occupancy sensor utilizes passive infrared (PIR) and ultrasonic detection methods to accurately sense occupancy and vacancy in areas up to 2,000 square feet in order to enhance energy efficiency and lighting control. Its sleek, low-profile ceiling-mount design ensures discreet installation while providing reliable, hands-free lighting control. The CMS's advanced technology allows it to perform in standalone settings thanks to its occupancy/vacancy sensing and versatile automation settings. Through the Smart Sensor mobile application, the CMS is easily configured for occupancy/vacancy sensing, controlling one or two ambient light hold-OFF zones, triggering compatible devices such as plug-in modules or smart receptacles, and UL924 emergency lighting.

  • PIR and Ultrasonic sensor detects motion, light, and sound to report changes in status and trigger preconfigured automations
  • Configure automated scenes with defined inputs (manual control, demand response, or emergency lighting)
  • Auto calibration feature, Digital Daylighting Level, automatically calibrates photocell to specified lighting design
  • Includes two interchangeable lenses for 8-12' mounting heights and 13-20' mounting heights as well as aisleway masks
  • Configure automations, adjust settings, and receive alerts through the Smart Sensor app for iOS and Android
  • Pair the CMS Sensor with other compatible Leviton devices (keypads, switches, receptacles, room controllers) for multi-way applications and automated scenes
  • Network up to five Smart Ceiling Mount Sensors and Smart Ceiling Mount Room Controllers to expand the FOV up to 10,000 sq ft

Multi-Technology Motion Detection

Multi-technology motion sensors utilize both PIR and ultrasonic technologies for advanced false alarm immunity. The sensor receives infrared (IR) signals to detect distortion of the infrared area and identify movement by a heat source. Ultrasonic (doppler shift) motion sensing, in contrast, works like radar by sending out high-frequency sound waves and detecting how fast those waves bounce back to the sensor.

Multi-technology motion detectors are best suited to enclosed spaces where occupants show only low levels of motion (classroom, conference room, etc.). These motion detectors are not well-suited to environments with high air flow levels, such as a warehouse.
