For many of us, receiving Amazon packages in the mail is a common occurrence, and we all often wonder how we can ensure our packages will be safe from drive-by package thieves and porch pirates. Some use surveillance cameras to keep an eye on their packages and others may have smart locks on their gates or patio doors to temporarily unlock to let deliverers drop off packages.
Amazon has partnered with home automation company Chamberlain to add a new level of package protection for Prime customers with In-Garage Delivery using Chamberlain’s MyQ Smart Garage Hub and the Key by Amazon app.

Amazon Prime members in select cities can add safe and secure in-garage delivery for all of their Amazon Prime deliveries. When you have a MyQ Smart Garage Hub installed with your automatic garage door opener, you can program your garage door to open for Amazon delivery drivers and receive updates on your smart device when a delivery is complete. The Smart Garage Hub also has a built-in camera so you can see when deliveries are being made.
The myQ® app (and PC web management tool) allows you to control your garage door, get status notifications and set schedules from anywhere. Set up real-time alerts when your garage door opens or closes, schedule your garage door to open minutes before you arrive home or after you leave for work, and connect third-party services like Nest or Xfinity for custom automated functions.
