    Full text manual (for reference)

Installation guide for the Zipabox Power Module (ZPZBMPOWERV1) — a hardware expansion module that supplies power to the Zipabox smart home controller, with optional integration alongside a Zipabox Backup (battery) module.

    Overview

The Power Module is a Zipabox expansion module requiring Zipabox software v0.9.962 or later. It mounts on a DIN rail together with the Zipabox and provides 230V AC power to the system. When paired with the Backup module, it manages battery charge/discharge and keeps the controller running through a power outage.

    Installation Steps

If you have a Backup module:

    1. Disconnect Zipabox from power and remove all modules from Slot 1.
    2. Disconnect all modules from the Backup module.
    3. Align the Power Module's connector to the Backup module's expansion slot, and join them together until the gap between them is completely closed.
    4. Put the Backup module (with Power Module attached) back into Slot 1 of Zipabox.
    5. Reconnect any other modules that were previously in Slot 1.
    6. Connect 230V AC power to the Power Module.

If you do not have a Backup module:

    1. Align the Power Module's connector to expansion Slot 1 of the Zipabox.
    2. Join the Power Module and Zipabox together until the gap between them is completely closed.

Note: Connecting/disconnecting the Power Module involves mains wiring and must be performed by a trained professional electrician as part of the home's electrical installation.

    Testing (with Backup Module)

    1. The Backup module's battery arrives pre-charged.
    2. On first connection to Zipabox, the upper LED shows red — indicating the battery is discharging.
    3. Once Zipabox is connected back to the power supply, the upper LED turns green.
    4. While the battery is charging, the lower LED shows blue.

    Care & Handling

    • Do not attempt to repair this product — there are no user-serviceable parts inside.
    • Not water-resistant — keep dry; moisture will corrode the internal electronics.
    • Clean only with a dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or strong detergents.
    • Do not drop, knock, or shake the module — rough handling can damage internal circuit boards and connectors.
    • Avoid exposing the module to excessive heat or cold.
    • Dispose of at a recycling center where possible; do not dispose of with household waste.
