Zipabox 433MHz Expansion Module (ZBM433V2) — Installation Guide

Quick installation guide and technical reference for the Zipabox 433MHz Expansion Module, which adds 433MHz device connectivity to a Zipato Zipabox smart home controller.

Overview

The Zipabox 433MHz Module lets a Zipabox controller communicate with popular 433MHz-based automation and security devices (e.g. X10, CoCo, Chacon, Oregon Scientific, Lightwave), integrating them into the same network alongside Z-Wave, ZigBee, and KNX devices. This module is designed to work only with Zipabox.

Installation

1. Disconnect Zipabox from power.
2. Align the connector of the 433MHz Expansion Module to expansion Slot 2 of the Zipabox (or to a module already connected into Slot 2).
3. Join the module and Zipabox together until the gap between them is completely closed.
4. Connect the antenna by screwing it clockwise onto the module's connector.

Mount the module together with the Zipabox — no separate mounting is required.

Handling & Care

• Do not drop, knock, or shake the module — rough handling can break internal circuit boards and connectors.
• Do not expose the module to excessive heat or cold.
• Not water-resistant — keep dry; moisture will corrode internal electronics.
• Clean with a dry cloth only — avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, or strong detergents.
• No user-serviceable parts inside; do not attempt to repair.
