Quick installation guide and specifications for the Zipato/Vision Door/Window Sensor (VS-ZD2102), a Z-Wave wireless contact sensor for monitoring doors, windows, and cabinets.

    Overview

The VS-ZD2102 is a Z-Wave-enabled door/window sensor (interoperable, two-way RF mesh networking) fully compatible with any Z-Wave network, including other manufacturers' controllers. It reports open/closed status via Z-Wave signal, includes a tamper switch, and supports an external switch connection for extended monitoring of a second contact point.

    Package Contents

    • 1x ZD2102 sensor
    • 1x Bracket for contact magnet
    • 1x Magnet
    • 2x Adhesive tape for magnet/sensor
    • 1x CR123A lithium battery
    • 4x Screws for bracket/sensor
    • 1x Installation & Operation manual

    Installation Steps

    1. Unscrew the screw fastening the rear cover and slide the rear cover down.
    2. Affix the rear cover to the frame along the opening edge of the door/window using screws or the included adhesive tape.
    3. Insert a CR123A battery into the compartment — the LED will flash slowly, indicating the sensor is ready for inclusion.
    4. Inclusion: Put your Z-Wave controller into inclusion mode (sensor within ~1 meter), then press the program switch for at least 1 second. The LED should go solid to confirm.
    5. Exclusion: Put the controller into exclusion mode, then press the program switch for at least 1 second.
    6. Association: Remove the cover to enter "Awake" mode, put the controller into Association mode, and follow its instructions. Supports one association group (5 nodes). Close the cover to return to sleep mode.
    7. Slide the rear cover back and screw the front cover — the LED should turn off.
    8. Mount the magnet with adhesive tape or screws, positioned within 1.9 cm of the sensor.
    9. Optional external switch: for windows needing dual monitoring, wire an external switch to the two normally-closed contact terminals; opening triggers an alarm report (type 01, level 11).

    Operation

    • Opening the door/window sends "ON" status (Basic Set, 0xFF) to associated nodes; LED flashes once.
    • Closing sends "OFF" status (Basic Set, 0x00); LED flashes once.
    • During normal operation, the LED stays off.
    • If the cover is removed, a tamper alarm report (type 01, level 11) is sent and the LED goes solid.
