X10 PLC01 Powerline Command Repeater — Manual

Manual for the X10 PLC01 Powerline Command Repeater — a device that increases the reliability of X10 plug-in and wired-in products by boosting and retransmitting X10 powerline (PLC) signals.

Description

The PLC01 boosts and retransmits X10 PLC signals between transmitting devices (transceivers, plug-in controllers, etc.) and receiving units (lamp/appliance modules, wall switch modules, etc.). Place the repeater centrally located between the transmitting and receiving units; in noisy environments you may need to experiment with placement to overcome line noise interference.

Note: The outlet at the bottom of the repeater is pass-through only and is not X10 controllable.

Installation

1. Find a suitable location, preferably centrally located between the transmitting and receiving units.
2. Plug the PLC Repeater into an AC outlet.

Testing the Repeater

1. Send an X10 ON/OFF command from the transmitting unit. The LED on the PLC01 will blink twice for each command sent, indicating it has received and retransmitted the command.
2. Plug the PLC Repeater into an AC outlet.
