VSSL SX Sync — Wireless Surround Sound Extender User Manual

User manual for the VSSL SX Sync — a wireless rear-surround audio extender for the VSSL SX Soundbar. It lets you connect in-ceiling or bookshelf speakers (via an amplifier) to complete a 5.1 Dolby Digital surround setup, streaming rear-channel audio wirelessly from the SX Soundbar.

Product Overview

• Front: Pair Button (hold 5-10 seconds per app prompt until the status LED flashes blue quickly) and a Status Indicator LED.
• Back: Dual omni-directional radio antennas (required for operation), Analog RCA output (connect to your amplifier's analog input), and a Power Connection (5V/1A USB Type-C).
• Included accessories: 5 ft. USB-A to USB-C power cord, and a 5V/1A USB-A to AC power adapter.

Setup

1. Plan your audio system. The SX Sync connects only to an SX Soundbar (not standalone) to power rear surround speakers via an amplifier with RCA inputs — for cases where in-ceiling speakers are preferred over powered SX Speakers.
2. Installation requirements. Keep the SX Sync within 100 ft of the SX Soundbar if signal must pass through walls (3x that distance — up to 300 ft — with direct line of sight). If the amplifier can't be within range, run RCA cable from the amplifier to a location within range that has a power outlet.
3. Download the VSSL app, open it, tap "Add Product," and follow the guided pairing steps to connect the SX Sync to your SX Soundbar.

Troubleshooting

Won't pair successfully

• Move the SX Sync and SX Soundbar closer together (or run a longer RCA cable to the amplifier); temporarily relocate SX Sync to an outlet near the Soundbar to confirm pairing works.
• Re-enter pairing instructions in the app and confirm the Soundbar's light bar blinks green during pairing.
• Force-close the VSSL app, then hold the pair button 5-10 seconds until the LED flashes quickly and finish pairing in-app.

No music output to speakers

• Confirm the LED is solid blue (not slow-blinking).
• In the app, verify the zone isn't muted and volume is turned up.
• Check that TV Level and Music Level settings in the SX group's surround settings are high enough.
• Verify the RCA cable is fully seated at both the SX Sync output and the amplifier input.

Audio intermittently stops and restarts

• Confirm RCA connections are fully seated at both ends.
• Move other IoT/wireless devices away from the SX Sync and Soundbar to reduce interference.
• Move the SX Sync and Soundbar closer together.
• On a VSSL amplifier: set Source Priority to Local First and enable Analog Input Sensitivity.

Blue light won't turn on

• Ensure the power cord is fully inserted.
• Use only the provided power adapter and USB cable.
• Factory reset by holding the reset button for at least 10 seconds.

All VSSL branded products carry a limited one (1) year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, from date of shipment or original retail purchase. Covers parts and repair labor for products deemed defective by Soundvision Technologies. Warranty does not transfer to subsequent owners and excludes products that have been abused, modified, disassembled, or damaged by accident/misuse.
