User guide for the Ultraloq UL3 Series Fingerprint and Touchscreen Smart Lock — a keyless entry deadbolt with fingerprint reader, touchscreen PIN code entry, and Bluetooth smartphone unlock (UL3 BT model).

Overview

The Ultraloq UL3 combines a fingerprint reader, touchscreen keypad, and (on the BT variant) Bluetooth smartphone control via the Ultraloq App, alongside a traditional backup key for emergency access.

Lock Parts

Exterior

• Touchscreen — enter a code and unlock from outside
• Fingerprint Reader — press finger to unlock from outside
• Message Display Screen — OLED display guiding you through operation
• Backup Key Hole — insert a physical key to unlock
• Restart Button — jump-starts the lock if activation fails

Interior

• Bluetooth LED Indicator — Ultraloq UL3 BT model only
• Reset Button — resets the lock to factory default settings
• Battery Cover — covers batteries and product label (a Quick Guide is printed inside)

Basic Lock Operation

• Clean the sensors: use a microfiber cloth on the fingerprint reader and touchscreen.
• Activate the lock: press a finger on the fingerprint reader, or touch the lock with the back of your hand or fingers. It turns off after 20 seconds with no further input.
• Open from outside (PIN): touch the lock to activate, input the User PIN code, then rotate the handle to open.
• Open from outside (fingerprint): press a finger on the reader to activate and unlock, then rotate the handle.
• Open from outside (smartphone, UL3 BT only): use the Ultraloq App per its in-app guide.
• Open from inside: simply rotate the handle.
• Replace batteries: when the display shows "Low battery," replace with 3 high-quality alkaline AA batteries.
• Emergency key override: use when the battery is dead or no valid User Code is known. The key hole is on the bottom of the lock — insert and rotate like any traditional key lock.

Vague Code

The UL3 Series supports up to a 16-digit "Vague Code" — enter any 16-digit code as long as it contains the correct code somewhere within it, and the door will unlock. Example (User Code 123456):

• 123456XXXXXX
• XXXXXX123456
• XXX123456XXX

This defeats "shoulder surfing" — an observer watching you enter a 16-digit code can't tell which 6 digits are the real code.

Fingerprint Placement Tips

• Place a finger flat and centered on the sensor's surface.
• Fingerprint reading may fail if fingers are too dry, wet, oily, or dirty, or if there's direct sunlight on the sensor.

Lock Programming

Factory Defaults

By default, any registered fingerprint or PIN code can open the door. An Admin account must be created first before any other user accounts can be added.

Capacity

• User PIN codes: 4 to 8 digits
• User ID numbers: 1 to 8 digits
• Up to 95 fingerprints and 95 PIN codes total; each Admin or User must enroll at least one fingerprint or PIN code.

Basic Programming Steps

1. Activate the lock, then press and hold the confirm key for 3 seconds to enter the menu.
2. Select a function by number:
   • 1 Add User
   • 2 Delete User
   • 3 Passage Mode
   • 4 Lockout Mode
   • 7 Add Admin
   • 8 Delete Admin
3. Follow the on-screen messages to complete setup.

Add Admin (must be done first)

1. Activate the lock (shows "No User"), press and hold for 3 sec to go to Add Admin.
2. Press confirm, then present a finger or enter a code.
3. Enter the finger/code again to confirm — Success.

Add User

1. Activate the lock, press and hold for 3 sec, enter the Admin code.
2. From the Menu, press 1 (Add user).
3. Enter a User ID, then present a finger or enter a PIN code, then confirm it again — Success.

Delete User

1. Activate, press and hold for 3 sec, enter Admin code, then press 2 (Delete user).
2. Enter the User ID and confirm again — Success.

Add / Delete Admin

Same flow as Add/Delete User but using menu options 7 (Add Admin) and 8 (Delete Admin), authenticated by an existing admin finger/code. It's recommended to register several Admin fingerprints and PIN codes as backups.

Passage Mode

Keeps the lock unlocked for convenient free passage. Enable/disable via Admin code > Menu > press 3 > toggle on/off.

Lockout Mode

Disables all electronic features (fingerprints and codes) — the lock can only be operated manually with the mechanical key. Enable/disable via Admin code > Menu > press 4 > toggle on/off.

Reset the Lock (deletes all user information)

1. Remove the battery cover.
2. Insert one end of a small paper clip into the reset button hole while the lock is active.
3. Press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds until a beep sounds.
