Complete user's manual for the LEVITON Hi-Fi2 4x4 Four Zone, Four Source digital audio distribution system, covering zone control, IR features, and LEVITON Omni/Lumina integration.
User's Manual for the LEVITON Hi-Fi2 4x4 Four Zone, Four Source Digital Audio Distribution System (Model LV95A023). Covers operation, zone/source setup, IR remote features, and integration with LEVITON Omni and Lumina home control systems.
The Hi-Fi2 4x4 lets you listen to and share music from up to four audio sources (stereo, iPod, satellite radio, cable TV, computer, CD player, etc.) in any of four zones (rooms) through digital amplification. Each source connects to a Remote Input Module (RIM); each room's audio is controlled by a Volume-Source Control (VSC) keypad.
Each RIM also includes a routed IR emitter jack and flasher, letting you control your source equipment's remote from any room with a VSC. The system can plug-and-play with LEVITON Omni and Lumina home control systems and OmniTouch touchscreens.
Press and hold Volume + and Volume − together to open the Zone Menu. Press src to advance items, Power to go back, and +/− to adjust. The menu auto-exits after 20 seconds of inactivity (or hold src for 2 seconds to exit manually).
| Setting | Default | Range |
|---|---|---|
| Balance | 0 | -10 to 10 |
| Bass | 0 | -10 to 10 |
| Treble | 0 | -10 to 10 |
| Loudness | Enabled | Enabled/Disabled |
| Brightness | 2 | 1 to 5 |
| Initial Volume | 20 | 0 (resume last), 2–100 |
| Page Volume | 40 | 0–100 |
Setting Initial Volume to "0" makes the Power button act like a mute — the zone resumes at its previous volume when turned back on. Setting Page Volume to "0" mutes that zone whenever a page is triggered.
With the VSC off, press and hold src for 2 seconds to open the Advanced Menu. These settings are system-wide (affect all zones) unless noted.
IR signals received at a VSC are sent to the Hi-Fi2 4x4 processor. Locally processed commands (handled directly by the amplifier) include: mute toggle, volume increment/decrement, source change, power toggle, power on, power off. Other commands are passed through to the connected source equipment via the RIM's IR flasher (Part Number 62A08-1) when IR Passthrough is enabled.
IR Remote Control buttons: Power, Mute, Previous track, Next track, Play/Pause, Source (cycle), Volume Down, Volume Up.
Plug any music source into a RIM using a standard stereo input jack; that source becomes available in every room with a VSC. Useful patch cables:
RIMs can also pick up music from a LEVITON Music Gateway (Part Number 84A00-1) or LEVITON Dock (Part Number 96A00).
The Page function plays audio over all zones simultaneously — e.g., for a doorbell or phone announcement — using audio Source 4 as the paging input. All zones switch to Source 4 at their configured Page Volume, then revert to their prior source/volume/power state when paging ends. Setting each zone's Page Volume to "0" instead uses the Page function to mute all zones (e.g., when someone's at the door) rather than making an announcement.
Your installer may configure Zone Grouping, which links two or more zones to share source, volume, and/or power state — useful for open-plan spaces like a connected kitchen and family room. Any linked setting changed from one VSC updates across the whole group. Contact your installer for details on configuring or changing zone groups.
