Installation and User Guide for the Ultraloq U-Bolt Pro Deadbolt Smart Lock — a keyless entry deadbolt with fingerprint reader, anti-peep keypad, Bluetooth app control, and mechanical key backup.

    Important Notes Before Installation

    • Do not use a power drill for installation.
    • Install and test the lock with the door open to avoid being locked out.
    • Do not install the batteries before installing the lock.
    • Follow the instructions in sequential order.
    • Use only AA Alkaline batteries — do not use Lithium or Rechargeable batteries.
    • Operating temperature: outside lock body -31°F to 158°F (-35°C to 70°C); inside lock body 14°F to 131°F (-10°C to 55°C).

    Preparing the Door

    • Door thickness: 15/16"–2" (33mm–50mm)
    • Face bore hole diameter: 2⅛" (53mm)
    • Backset: 2⅜" or 2¾" (60mm or 70mm)
    • Edge bore hole diameter: 1" (25mm)
    • Frame hole depth: less than 1" (25mm)

Use the included drill template for new doors that haven't been pre-bored.

    Installation Steps

    1. Bolt and Strike: Install the bolt into the door (UP icon facing up — bolt is pre-set for 2⅜" backset, adjustable to 2¾"). Install the strike into the door frame.
    2. Exterior Assembly: Break off the cylinder tailpiece at the mark matching your door thickness (use two pairs of pliers to avoid damage). Keep the bolt retracted and the cylinder tailpiece horizontal, then install the exterior assembly without inserting the mechanical key. Align its two sticks with the two holes on the bolt; the cable routes through the hole below the bolt.
    3. Interior Assembly Mounting Plate: Route the cable through the hole on the mounting plate, then secure the plate to the exterior assembly using Screw D.
    4. Interior Assembly: Remove the battery cover, connect the cable to the socket, rotate the knob to vertical (unlocked) position, then attach the interior assembly to the mounting plate and tighten with 2× Screw E.
    5. Batteries & Door Handing: Rotate the knob to horizontal (locked) position, insert 4 AA alkaline batteries. After a few seconds, the bolt will retract and extend on its own to learn the door's orientation — this "door handing" process is crucial to proper lock operation. Reinstall the battery cover.

Note: Any fingerprint or code can unlock the U-Bolt Pro while it's in Factory Default Mode.

    Product Overview

    Exterior

    • Anti-peep Keypad — enter a code to unlock from outside.
    • Advanced Fingerprint Reader — verify a fingerprint to unlock from outside.
    • Backup Key Hole — insert the mechanical key for emergency unlocking.
    • Micro USB (5V) — connect a power bank to activate the lock if the battery is dead.
    • Tri-color LED Indicator — shows access status, Bluetooth connection, and battery status.
    • Ultraloq Button — locks from outside, illuminates the keypad, and confirms operations.

    Interior

    • Reset Button — resets the lock to factory defaults (if paired to the App, click "Delete" in-app first).
    • Battery Compartments — holds 4 AA alkaline batteries.
    • Knob — locks/unlocks the door from inside.
    • LED Indicator — turns red when the door is unlocked.

Low Battery Alarm: the Tri-color LED flashes red 3 times with 3 beeps on activation when the battery is low — replace batteries promptly.

    App-Based Setup

    1. Download the "U-tec" app (iOS App Store or Google Play).
    2. Register a U-tec account and log in.
    3. With the lock in Factory Default Mode, enable Bluetooth on your phone, stay within 10 ft (3m), and search for the lock in the app.
    4. Pair the lock in the app to start using it.

    Using the Lock

    • Unlock from outside: enter a 4-8 digit user code and press the Ultraloq Button; place a registered finger on the Fingerprint Reader; or unlock via smartphone app.
    • Lock from outside: press the Ultraloq Button manually, or enable Auto Lock to relock automatically.
    • Unlock from inside: rotate the interior knob to vertical.
    • Reset the lock: if registered in the app as Owner, click "Delete and Reset" first; then use a Reset Needle to hold the Reset Button (bottom of interior assembly) for ~3 seconds until you hear one long beep and two short beeps. All data is erased on reset.
    • Replace batteries: use 4 high-quality alkaline AA batteries.
    • 5V Emergency Power: connect a regular 5V power bank via the Micro USB port to temporarily activate a dead lock.
    • Emergency Key Override: pull the front panel from the bottom, rotate open from the top to reveal the Backup Key Hole, then insert and rotate the key like any standard lock. Keep at least one backup key stored securely outside the home.

    Auto Lock

With the bolt unlocked, press and hold "1" for 3 seconds until the LED turns green and blinks to enable Auto Lock. Press and hold "0" for 3 seconds to disable it. Auto Lock timing (10 seconds–5 minutes; factory default 30 seconds) can also be set via the app.

    Anti-Peep Vague Code

The keypad supports up to a 16-digit "Vague Code" — as long as your correct user code appears somewhere within the digits you enter, the door unlocks. Example (User Code 123456): entering 123456XXXXXX, XXXXXX123456, or XXX123456XXX all work.

    Fingerprint Placement Tips

    • Cover the Fingerprint Reader completely with some pressure, touching the surrounding metal ring.
    • Keep both the finger and the reader clean and dry (use a lint-free cloth on the reader).
    • Scan multiple fingerprint angles when registering.
    • Don't tap too quickly or move your finger while scanning.
    • Try a different finger if one has trouble enrolling — the sensor improves recognition after repeated successful scans (self-learning).

    Standalone Mode Programming (No App)

Warning: Standalone Mode is not available once the lock has been registered in the app — reset to Factory Default first if you need to switch back.
