    Installation and operation manual for the STI-34104 4-Channel Wireless Receiver, part of STI's Wireless Alert Series. This receiver monitors up to 4 different STI wireless sensors (driveway monitors, entry alerts, PIRs, etc.) at a single convenient location.

    How It Works

    The STI 4-Channel Receiver monitors up to 4 different STI wireless sensors at once. STI's wireless alert system uses a proprietary protocol to ensure other non-STI sensors are not accidentally enrolled. The receiver can latch any alert until manually reset.

    Programming a Sensor

    1. Plug the antenna into the antenna (red) connector on the receiver.
    2. Plug the adapter into the wall.
    3. While holding down the gray button, plug the adapter into the 4-Channel Receiver. A series of beeps/tones will play. Release the button when they finish — the red and green LEDs will flash quickly. The receiver is now in program mode for 1 minute.
    4. Activate a sensor to program it in (refer to the sensor's own instructions). A tone or series of beeps sounds representing the channel the sensor programmed into (1 beep = zone 1, 2 beeps = zone 2, etc.).
    5. Repeat step 4 for additional sensors.
    6. After programming, wait at least 5 seconds, then press the gray button to exit Program Mode (or it will exit automatically after 1 minute).

    Clearing the Receiver Memory

    1. Disconnect power from the receiver and wait ~15 seconds.
    2. Reconnect power — the receiver makes a start-up tone and the green LED goes solid.
    3. Within 3 seconds, press and hold the gray button. You'll hear a series of beeps/tones; when you hear a continuous tone, release the button — the sensors are cleared.

    Modes of Operation

    Normal Operating Mode

    When a sensor activates, short beeps identify the channel (1 beep = channel 1, etc.), then the red LED flashes to indicate which channel alerted. The green LED flashes periodically to show routine signals are being received (this does not mean a sensor was activated). If more than 2 sensors activate simultaneously, the receiver only beeps for two of them, but the red LED flashes for all activated channels. Press and release the gray button to reset after the sensor returns to normal.

    Silent Modes

    • Temporary Silent Mode (8 hours): Press and hold the gray button ~3 seconds until you hear a single beep. Red LED goes solid.
    • Permanent Silent Mode: Press and hold the gray button ~6 seconds until you hear two short beeps. Red LED goes solid. Persists through power outages until manually exited.
    • Exit either mode: Press and hold the button ~3 seconds until you hear a single beep. Red LED turns off.

    In silent mode, the red LED changes from continuous to flashing when a sensor is activated (instead of sounding an audible alert).

    Supervisory Signals

    The receiver annunciates once per minute (with beeps indicating which sensor) for any of these conditions:

    1. Low battery
    2. Tamper signal received
    3. Out of range (12–24 hours without check-in)

    This continues until either the receiver gets a normal operation message from the sensor, or the sensor is cleared from memory.

    Transistor Output Jack & Lamp Controller

    The receiver includes a 3.5mm mono, polarity-sensitive transistor output jack that can trigger a low-powered accessory such as the optional STI-30104 Lamp Controller. Output supplies 75mA at 12VDC for three seconds, tip negative. The optional Lamp Controller plugs into this jack and turns on a lamp for a selected duration any time a sensor triggers (use only 200W or less incandescent lamps, kept away from flammable materials).

    Troubleshooting

    Symptom Fix
    Red LED won't stop flashing after pressing gray button Check that the sensor is restored to its normal condition.
    Receiver doesn't power up (green LED off) Check the AC outlet, check that the adapter is plugged into both the receiver and the wall, try another 12V DC 100mA adapter with correct polarity (+ center, − outside edge).
    Receiver doesn't sound when a sensor activates Check for Silent Mode. Move the sensor closer to test range/obstructions. Check sensor batteries. Reprogram via Clear + Program steps above.
    Receiver sounds with no real alert Check sensor mounting per its own instructions; reprogram; note driveway sensors can be triggered by atmospheric conditions due to sensitive electronics.
    Receiver gives short beeps with no visible alert See Supervisory Signals above — low battery, tamper, or out-of-range condition on a sensor.
    Receiver memory won't clear Disconnect power, wait 15 seconds, reconnect, then repeat the Clearing Memory steps exactly.
