Installation instructions for the Ecolink WST-402 Wireless Tilt Sensor — garage door position detection for 2GIG and Honeywell security panels.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Installation instructions and user guide for the Ecolink WST-402 Wireless Tilt Sensor — a 345MHz wireless sensor designed to detect garage door position (tilt) for use with compatible security panels.

    Specifications

    • Frequency: 345MHz
    • Battery: One 3Vdc lithium CR123A (1550 mAh)
    • Battery life: 5-8 years
    • Operating temperature: -22°F to 120°F (-30°C to 49°C)
    • Operating humidity: 5-95% RH, non-condensing
    • Compatible receivers: 2GIG and Honeywell panels
    • Supervisory signal interval: ~60 minutes
    • Input type: Normally closed contact input terminals

    Enrolling the Sensor

Set your alarm panel into program mode (refer to your panel's manual). The WST-402 has two triggers, each with a unique loop number: the built-in tilt sensor uses Loop 2, and the external contact input uses Loop 1.

    • Auto-enroll the tilt sensor: ensure the device is oriented with the tilt in the "up" position (note the arrow on the housing). When prompted by the panel, move the device until it's horizontal.
    • Auto-enroll the external contact input: when prompted by the panel, trigger the sensor by closing the circuit between the two terminal inputs (with a wire, or by applying the magnet to a hardwired contact).
    • Manual enrollment: use the serial number printed on the device.
    • The tilt sensor can be set as an "exit/entry" zone or a "perimeter zone" in your panel's zone type settings.

Disclaimer: the external contact terminals, while functional, have not been submitted to UL/ETL for verification of compliance — their use falls outside the scope of this product's ETL listing.

    Tilt Sensitivity

The sensor activates at approximately a 45-degree angle. Adjust sensitivity by moving the internal ball sensor up or down a few degrees. There is a built-in ~1 second delay to prevent false alarms from wind or vibration (common on large garage doors).

    Mounting

Mounting screws and double-sided tape are included. For the tape: ensure the surface is clean and dry, apply the tape to the sensor and then to the mounting location, and press firmly for several seconds. Avoid taping below 50°F — the bond will still hold at low temperatures after 24 hours.

    Replacing the Battery

A low-battery signal is automatically sent to the control panel when needed.

    1. Remove the screw securing the top cover, then remove the cover to expose the battery.
    2. Replace with a CR123A battery, ensuring the "+" side faces as indicated on the device.
    3. Reattach the cover and screw.

    Regulatory

FCC ID: XQC-WST402 | IC: 9863B-WST402. Complies with FCC Part 15 (Class B) and Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standards. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by Ecolink could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
