Safety & Installation Warnings

• Use only a certified/listed 12VDC Class 2 power supply or an adequate PoE switch. Improper handling/installation risks fire or electrical shock.
• Avoid heavy stress, vibration, or long-term water/humidity exposure during transport, storage, and installation. Do not install near heat sources, power lines, radar equipment, or other electromagnetic radiation.
• Only install within the specified operating temperature/humidity range. Do not block ventilation openings; use all supplied weatherproofing hardware.
• Caution: be mindful when positioning the camera — its built-in illumination may cause temporary glare to approaching drivers.
• Shut down and unplug power before maintenance. Do not touch the CMOS sensor optic — use a blower for dust removal. Clean the dome cover only with recommended methods (oil-free soft brush/hair dryer for dirt; oil-free cotton cloth/paper with alcohol or detergent, wiping from lens center outward, for grease/fingerprints).
• Should be installed by qualified personnel only; unauthorized modification voids the warranty.

Initial Setup — Web Access & Login

1. Confirm the PC and camera are on the same local network (DHCP by default; a DHCP server is required — most routers include one).
2. Install and run Speco Blue Scanner (downloadable from specotech.com) to discover cameras on the local network.
3. Select the device in the discovered list and double-click to open the web viewer, or manually enter the camera's IP address in a browser.
4. Default login: username admin, password 1234. Follow prompts to install required plug-ins.
5. Note: the standard first-login password change only updates the admin password. To change the ONVIF password, check "Match ONVIF Password" (if available) or go to Config → Network → Ports/Connections → ONVIF.

Live View & Viewing Modes

Before viewing live video, set the stream mode and installation method under Fisheye Parameters (see below). Live view controls include preview size/scale, full-screen mode, start/stop recording, snapshot, two-way audio, and zoom. Status icons indicate sensor/motion alarms, SD card recording, line crossing, intrusion, region entrance/exiting, target counting, and crowd density events.

Available live view modes:

• Fisheye view — raw 360° panoramic image
• Panoramic view — dewarped wide view
• Fisheye + 3PTZ view — fisheye plus 3 independently controllable virtual PTZ windows
• Panoramic + 3PTZ view
• 4PTZ view — requires switching the stream mode in the fisheye parameter interface; 4 independently controllable virtual PTZ windows
• 4PTZ fusion view — a single combined picture from 4 windows (not individually PTZ-controllable)

In multi-window PTZ modes, select a window and use the virtual PTZ control panel (pan/tilt/zoom/focus/iris, auto scan, wiper, light, random scan, group scan, presets). Presets can be saved, called, and deleted. Cruises (sequences of presets with timing) can be created, started, stopped, modified, and deleted.

Camera Configuration Overview

System Configuration

• System Information — view device details.
• Date and Time — set time zone, DST ("Summer Time"), manual date/time.
• Local Recording — set storage path for captured pictures/video on the local PC; enable/disable audio in recordings and bitrate display; option to save smart-event snapshots locally.
• Storage — format/eject SD card, set snapshot/video capacity quotas, configure weekly or day-specific schedule recording (day schedule takes priority over weekly), configure snapshot format/resolution/quality/interval, and FTP snapshot upload on a schedule.
• Configuring Fisheye Parameters — set stream mode (Fisheye / Panoramic View / Fisheye + Panoramic + 3PTZ / Fisheye + 4PTZ / Fisheye + 4PTZ Fusion) and installation method (wall, ceiling, or desktop) — required before viewing live video correctly.

Video Configuration

• Image Settings — brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, sharpness, noise reduction, defog, backlight compensation (Off/HWDR/HLC/BLC), anti-flicker (50/60Hz), Smart IR, white balance, day/night mode (Auto/Day/Night/Timing).
• Video/Audio Configuration, OSD Configuration, Video Mask, and ROI Configuration — same general structure as other Speco IP camera models (multiple streams, on-screen display, masked zones, region of interest bitrate boost).

Alarm Setup

• Motion Detection — enable, set sensitivity/zones, configure triggers (alarm out, snapshot, SD recording, email, FTP), and schedule.
• Exception Alarm, Alarm In (Sensor Input), Alarm Out, Alarm Server — standard alarm I/O and forwarding configuration.

Analytics Configuration

The O6MDP4 supports the following smart detection functions (each with its own enable/sensitivity/area/schedule settings):

• Line Crossing — triggers when a target crosses a defined line. Recommended mounting height 10ft+, ~45° angle; detected objects should be 1%-1/8 of the image.
• Region Intrusion — triggers when a target enters a defined area.
• Region Entrance — triggers when a target enters pre-defined areas (setup mirrors Region Intrusion).
• Region Exiting — triggers when a target exits pre-defined areas.
• Target Counting by Line — detects, tracks, and counts people or vehicles crossing an alarm line. Selectable detection targets: human, motor vehicle, motorcycle/bicycle (only "Human" is selectable in ceiling installation mode). Supports a staying threshold, live-view statistics overlay, persistent-connection trajectory push to API tools, and counting reset (daily/weekly/monthly or manual). Statistics viewable under Statistics → Target Counting by Line with report/chart views.
• Crowd Density Detection — estimates people density in a specified area via face detection (heads/backs not counted) against a configurable threshold; camera lens should face the people flow.
• Heat Map — displays people/vehicle flow distribution by color across up to 4 defined areas. Only available when installation method is set to Ceiling. Viewable under Statistics → Heat Map with people/motor vehicle/non-motor vehicle data views.

Network Configuration

Standard network settings: TCP/IP (DHCP/PPPoE), Port (HTTP/HTTPS/Data/RTSP), Server Configuration (VMS), ONVIF, DDNS, SNMP, 802.1x, RTSP, RTMP, UPnP, Email, FTP, HTTP POST, HTTPS, and QoS.

Security Configuration

User Admin (add/modify/delete users with role-based permissions and optional MAC binding), Online User (view/kick viewers), Block and Allow Lists (IP/MAC filtering), and Security Management (login lockout after repeated failures).

Maintenance Configuration

Backup and Restore, Reboot (manual or scheduled), Upgrade (firmware update via browser), Operation Log (search/export), and Debug Mode.

Search

• Image Search — locate snapshots on local PC or SD card by date/time.
• Video Search — play back recordings by date/time; clip and download specific time ranges. Note: plug-in-free browser playback does not support playback mode switching (balanced/real-time/fluent) or downloading.

Troubleshooting

• IP Scanner shows no devices: confirm the PC running the scanner is on the same local network as the camera.
• Internet Explorer won't download ActiveX control: go to Tools → Internet Options → Security → Custom Level, and enable all options under "ActiveX controls and plug-ins."
• No sound: confirm the audio input device is connected and audio is enabled on the corresponding channel.
