Safety & Installation Warnings

• Use only a certified/listed 12VDC Class 2 power supply. Do not connect two power sources to the device simultaneously — this can cause device damage.
• The product must be grounded to reduce risk of electric shock. Improper handling/installation risks fire or electrical shock.
• Avoid heavy stress, vibration, or water exposure during transport, storage, and installation.
• Install in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources; avoid extreme temperatures.
• Do not expose the camera to electromagnetic radiation — this may cause CMOS sensor failure.
• Do not block ventilation openings or allow water/liquid intrusion.
• Shut down and unplug power before performing any maintenance. Do not touch the CMOS sensor optic — use a blower for dust removal.
• Clean the enclosure only with professional optical cleaning methods; improper cleaning (e.g. cloth on the dome cover) may impair IR performance.
• Should be installed by qualified personnel only; unauthorized modification voids the warranty.

Initial Setup — Web Access & Login

1. Confirm the PC and camera are on the same local network. The camera uses DHCP by default and requires a DHCP server (most routers have one built in).
2. Install and run the IP Scanner tool from the included CD to discover cameras on the local network.
3. Select the device in the discovered list and double-click to open the web viewer, or manually enter the camera's IP address in a browser.
4. Default login: username admin, password 1234. Follow the prompts to install required plug-ins for viewing video.

Live View

After login, the live view window provides controls for resolution/scale, full-screen mode, snapshot, local recording, two-way audio, zoom/focus (motorized lens models), and PTZ control (for compatible external PTZ enclosures via RS485). Status icons indicate SD card recording, motion/sensor alarms, line crossing, crowd density, people counting, object removal, intrusion, and face detection events — icons flash when the corresponding event is enabled and triggered.

Camera Configuration Overview

Configuration is organized into six main sections accessed via the "Setup" button:

System Configuration

• System Information — view device details.
• Date and Time — set time zone, DST, and manual date/time.
• Local Recording — set storage path for captured pictures/videos on the local PC; enable/disable bitrate display and face snapshot storage.
• Storage — format/eject the SD card, set snapshot/video capacity quotas, configure schedule recording (weekly or day-specific schedules, with day schedules taking priority), and configure snapshot format/resolution/quality/interval.

Video Configuration

• Image Settings — brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, WDR, sharpness, DNR, defog, backlight compensation (Off/HLC/BLC), anti-flicker (50/60Hz), white balance, exposure mode, corridor pattern (0/90/180/270°), mirror/flip. Day/night mode can follow a timed schedule.
• Video/Audio Configuration — three adjustable streams (resolution, frame rate, CBR/VBR bitrate, video quality, I-frame interval, H.264/H.264+/H.265/H.265+ compression, profile, watermark); audio encoding (G711A/G711U).
• OSD Configuration — timestamp, device name, OSD content, and picture overlay (max 200×200px image).
• Video Mask — up to 4 masked zones drawn directly on the image.
• ROI Configuration — designate a region of interest that receives a higher bitrate for better image quality.
• Zoom/Focus — motorized lens models only; includes one-key auto focus.
• PTZ Configuration — for use with a compatible external PTZ enclosure via RS485; set protocol, address, baud rate.

Event Setup

• Motion Detection — enable, set sensitivity and detection zones, configure triggers (alarm out, snapshot, SD recording, email, FTP), and schedule.
• Other Alarms (Anomaly) — SD Card Full, SD Card Error, IP Address Conflict, Cable Disconnection (alarm-out models only).
• Alarm In (Sensor Input) — available on select models; configure alarm type, holding time, sensor name, triggers, and schedule.
• Alarm Out — modes: alarm linkage, manual operation, day/night switch linkage, or timed schedule.
• Alarm Server — forward alarm events to a network alarm server (address, port, heartbeat).

Analytics Configuration

Supports smart detection functions, each with its own enable/sensitivity/area/schedule settings and standard alarm triggers (alarm out, snapshot, SD recording, email, FTP):

• Object Removal — detects items left behind or removed from a defined area. Detection object should occupy 1/50 to 1/3 of the image; detection takes 3-5 seconds.
• Abnormality — scene change, video blur, and video color cast detection.
• Line Crossing — triggers when an object crosses a defined line, with configurable direction (A<->B, A->B, A<-B). Recommended mounting height 10ft+, ~45° angle.
• Intrusion — triggers when an object enters a defined area (up to 4 areas). Same mounting recommendations as line crossing.
• Crowd Density Detection — monitors people density in a defined area against a threshold; camera should face the flow of people at a 30°-60° angle.
• People Intrusion — designed for indoor use; installation height 1-3 meters, camera pointed at the detection direction, ideally installed in a room corner.
• People Counting — tracks head shapes to count entries/exits with configurable counting period (all/daily/weekly/monthly) and threshold (default 500, max 655,350).
• Face Detection — detects faces in the scene; can save source and/or face images locally or to SD card. Recommended installation height 2.0-3.5m, depression angle ≤15°. See recommended focal-length/distance table below.

Network Configuration

• TCP/IP — DHCP or PPPoE connection; IP change notification via email/FTP.
• Port — HTTP (default 80), HTTPS (default 443), Data (default 9008), RTSP (default 554).
• Server Configuration — for connecting to a network video management system (VMS).
• DDNS — required for internet access when using DHCP.
• SNMP — v1/v2/v3 support for remote status/parameter management.
• 802.1x — network authentication when connected to a compatible switch.
• RTSP — default port 554; supports unicast and multicast stream URLs for main/sub/third streams.
• UPnP — quick LAN access.
• Email — SMTP settings for alarm/IP-change notifications, including send interval to prevent flooding.
• FTP — upload captured event pictures to an FTP server.
• HTTPS — comes with a default certificate; supports importing a signed certificate or creating a private certificate/certificate request.
• QoS — DSCP priority settings (0-63) for video/audio, alarm, and management traffic.

Security Configuration

• User Admin — add/modify/delete users with Administrator, Normal, or Advanced roles; optional MAC address binding restricts access to a specific PC.
• Online User — view/kick currently connected viewers.
• Block and Allow Lists — IPv4/IPv6/MAC address filtering.
• Security Management — optional account lockout after 6 failed login attempts (30-minute lock or resolved by reboot).

Maintenance Configuration

• Backup and Restore — import/export configuration between cameras; restore factory defaults.
• Reboot — manual or scheduled (timed) reboot.
• Upgrade — firmware upgrade via browser upload; do not close the browser or disconnect the camera during the process.
• Operation Log — search and export logs by type and date range.

Search

• Image Search — locate snapshots saved on the local PC or SD card by date/time range (and alarm event type for SD card searches).
• Video Search — play back local-PC or SD-card recordings by date/time range; clip and download specific time ranges from SD card footage.

Troubleshooting

• IP Scanner shows no devices: confirm the PC running IP Scanner is on the same local network as the camera.
• Internet Explorer won't download ActiveX control: go to Tools → Internet Options → Security → Custom Level, and enable all options under "ActiveX controls and plug-ins."
• No sound: confirm the audio input device is connected and that audio is enabled on the corresponding channel.
