Quick start guide for the Speco O4D9 4MP Vandal Resistant IP Dome Camera with Advanced Analytics, covering installation and web login.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Quick start guide for the Speco Technologies O4D9 — a 4MP vandal-resistant IP dome camera with advanced analytics and a 2.8mm fixed lens.

    Important Safety Notes

    • Use only a certified/listed 12VDC Class 2 power supply. Do not connect two power sources to the device simultaneously — this may damage it. The camera must be grounded to reduce risk of electric shock.
    • Do not expose the unit to heavy stress, violent vibration, or long-term water/humidity exposure during transport, storage, or installation.
    • Avoid installing near heat sources, power lines, radar equipment, or other electromagnetic radiation, and never block ventilation openings.
    • Shut down and unplug the device before performing any maintenance. Do not touch the CMOS sensor optic directly — use a blower for dust and a dry soft cloth (or lightly dampened with neutral detergent) for the housing.
    • Do not touch or wipe the dome cover surface directly. For dirt, use an oil-free soft brush or hair dryer; for grease/fingerprints, use an oil-free cotton cloth or paper soaked in alcohol or detergent, wiping from the lens center outward.
    • Installation should be performed by qualified personnel only. Unauthorized changes or modifications void the warranty.

    Connecting the Network Cable

    1. Loosen the nut from the main element.
    2. Run the network cable (without an RJ45 connector) through both elements, then crimp on the RJ45 connector.
    3. Connect the cable to the waterproof connector, then tighten the nut and main cover.

    Installation

Before you start: confirm the wall or ceiling can support at least three times the camera's weight.

    1. Attach the junction box drill template where you want to install it, then drill the screw hole(s) and cable hole per the template.
    2. Install the junction box onto the wall with the provided screws.
    3. Remove the trim ring from the gap of the camera.
    4. Loosen the screws to open the lower dome.
    5. Connect the cables, mount the rubber plug in the gap of the mounting base, and fasten the camera onto the junction box.
    6. Perform three-axis adjustment (Rotation 0°–180°, Pan 0°–355°, Tilt 0°–70°) while viewing the live image on a monitor to achieve the optimum angle.
    7. Reinstall the lower dome and fasten with screws, reattach the trim ring, and carefully remove the protective film.

    Web Operation and Login

    1. Ensure the camera and PC are on the same local network. The camera uses DHCP by default.
    2. Install and run IP Scanner from the included CD, or download it from specotech.com/ip-scanner.
    3. In the device list, view each device's IP address, model number, and MAC address. Double-click the applicable device to open the web viewer, or manually enter the IP address in a browser.
    4. Log in with the default username admin and password 1234, then install any prompted plugins.
