User's manual for the Speco Intensifier Series low-light analog camera, Model HT-INTB8/9/10 — OSD setup, controls, and specifications.
User's manual for the Speco Intensifier Series low-light camera, Model HT-INTB8/9/10. Covers OSD menu setup, camera adjustment, troubleshooting, and specifications.
Access the SETUP menu by pressing the SET button on the camera. Navigate features with the UP/DOWN buttons, and change values with the LEFT/RIGHT buttons. When adjustment is complete, move the arrow to "EXIT" and press SET.
Select the lens type: DC/VIDEO (DC Auto Iris Lens — control brightness 1–70 when DC selected) or MANUAL (Manual Lens). Note: color mode is not available when AGC is OFF.
Controls screen brightness via shutter speed. OFF deactivates it; FLK (1/100) is flicker mode; MANUAL lets you select from 1/60 to 1/200,000 sec. Avoid pointing the camera directly at a fluorescent lamp. When SHUTTER is set to FLK mode, the Intensifier will not work.
ELC controls overall brightness (adjustable 0-70 scale shown on screen). BLC (Back Light Compensation) helps overcome backlight conditions.
A built-in SR chip provides intelligent light-level control to overcome severe backlight conditions. Set to OFF / LOW / MIDDLE / HIGH.
Allows a brighter picture in low light. Higher gain yields a brighter screen but may increase noise. Set to OFF / LOW / MIDDLE / HIGH.
Proper white balance may not be obtainable when the scene is mostly high color-temperature (blue sky, sunset), the scene is dim, or the camera faces a fluorescent lamp directly / an area with constantly changing illumination — use AWC mode in these cases.
Reduces video noise on screen: OFF / LOW / MIDDLE / HIGH. Changing GAIN from AGC-L to AGC-H increases sensitivity as well as noise. When GAIN is OFF, Reduce Noise will not work.
Delivers clear images under night or low-light conditions, switching to B/W automatically in AUTO mode. Controllable intensification range is 2X to 128X. Increasing intensification brightens the picture in low light but may increase image lag and image noise (expected/normal).
Enter up to 15 characters for an on-screen camera name. Move the cursor with LEFT/RIGHT, select characters with UP/DOWN, press SET to confirm each character. Use "CLR" to clear/erase from right to left if you make a mistake, "POS" to set screen position, and "END" to finish. If set to OFF, the name will not display.
COLOR: always displays a color picture. AUTO: switches to B/W in low light. Note: the OSD key may not respond for 3 seconds after switching COLOR/BW mode.
INT: internal synchronization (default on 12V DC). L/L (Line Lock): adjustable phase 0–270°, available only when powered via AC.
When motion is detected, "MOTION DETECTED" appears on screen. Set to OFF (deactivated) or ON. When ON, use AREA SEL and AREA STATE to define detection zones (adjustable TOP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT boundaries).
Masks a defined area of the frame for privacy. Set AREA STATE to ON, adjust AREA TONE (mask darkness) and TOP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT boundaries, same as Motion Detection setup.
OFF (normal) or ON (mirrors the image left/right).
OFF deactivates; ON enables level control from 0–31. Higher level increases sharpness but may produce an unnatural image at extremes.
DEFAULT: resets the camera to factory default settings. PAGE 1: saves Next Page settings and returns to the SETUP menu.
Settings are made using the 5 buttons on the front of the camera. Unscrew the front of the camera to access these controls and the video test connector. Mount using the included mounting base and screws; see the specification section for camera dimensions when planning mounting location.
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Nothing appears on the screen | Check the power cable and line connections between camera and monitor. Check that VIDEO cables are properly connected. |
| Image on screen is dim | Check if the lens is dirty — clean with a soft cloth. Adjust the monitor as needed. If exposed to very strong light, reposition the camera. |
| Image on screen is dark | Adjust lens focus. Adjust monitor contrast. If using an intermediate device, set 75Ω/Hi-Z properly. |
| Camera not working properly, surface is hot | Check that the camera is properly connected to an appropriate power source. |
| Motion Detection function not active | Check that MOTION DET is not set to OFF, and that MD AREA is set properly. |
| Color of picture doesn't match | Check the WHITE-BAL menu setting. |
| Image on screen flickers | Camera may be facing direct sunlight or fluorescent lighting — reposition the camera. |
| L/L mode can't be selected | L/L requires AC power — connect the camera to an AC power source (it defaults to internal sync on 12V DC). |
