    Data sheet and wiring instructions for the ELK-912 (and 12-pack ELK-912-12) 12V DC relay module with SPDT (Form "C") dry contacts, used for general-purpose switching of devices and high-current loads in security and automation systems.

    Overview

    The ELK-912 is a high-quality 12VDC relay with SPDT (Form "C") dry contacts, featuring low current draw and support for either positive or negative activation. It's ideal for general-purpose switching tasks — activating floodlights, sirens, or other equipment from a control panel's output. The ELK-912-12 packages twelve relay modules together on a pre-scored, break-off circuit board for bulk installations.

    Terminal Reference

    Power terminals ("-" and "+") power the relay coil (12V, 30mA) and connect to a control panel's trigger output. The relay contacts are labeled N\O (Normally Open), COM (Common), and N\C (Normally Closed): COM and N\C are connected when the ELK-912 is off (no trigger), and COM and N\O are connected when the ELK-912 is activated.

    Wiring Examples

    Positive-Output Control Panel

    If the control panel has a positive alarm output, connect the ELK-912's "-" terminal to the control's ground terminal, and connect the ELK-912's "+" terminal to the control's positive alarm output.

    Negative-Output Control Panel

    If the control panel has a negative alarm output, connect the ELK-912's "+" terminal to the control's +12V terminal, and connect the ELK-912's "-" terminal to the control's negative alarm output.

    Alarm-Activated Floodlight

    Wire the ELK-912's relay contacts (COM/N\O) in series with a 120VAC floodlight circuit so the light turns on whenever the control panel is in alarm.

    High-Current Bell or Siren Switch

    Use the ELK-912's Form "C" contacts to switch a high-current siren or bell powered from a separate 12V power supply, keeping the heavy current load off the control panel's own output.
