    Overview

    The DxVT is an HD-TVI Digital Video Recorder from Speco Technologies. Visit www.specotech.com for the latest software and updates. Tech Support: 1-800-645-5516.

    OSD Main Menu

    To enter the main menu, right-click the mouse and select Setup from the submenu, or press the Setup button on the remote control. Enter the username and password — default username is admin, default password is 1111.

    Menu Option Description
    SEARCH Enter the Search menu.
    SETUP Enter the Setup menu.
    DISPLAY Select between different multi-view display formats.
    SNAPSHOT Create a snapshot of the selected channel image (JPEG still image).
    SUPER EZ COPY Instant backup.
    ENABLE MANUAL RECORD ON/OFF Enable/disable manual recording (also known as Panic Record). Default is continuous recording.
    INSTANT PLAYBACK Play back the selected channel on the live screen.
    ADVANCED MENU — EZ SETUP Start the EZ Setup Wizard.
    AUDIO Set an audio channel to output (Channel 1-4, Audio Mute).
    CAMERA PTZ Access the PTZ interface.
    ENABLE MAIN MONITOR SEQUENCE Enable/disable video sequence function.
    DISABLE ALARM OUT Enable/disable alarm outputs.
    MANUAL DIGITAL DETERRENT Manually trigger the Digital Deterrent audio message.
    SITE INFORMATION View the record setting of a selected channel.
    SYSTEM INFORMATION Displays a window with system information.
    EXPORT HELP Displays quick instructions for exporting video.
    SYSTEM SHUTDOWN Shuts down the system.
    SYSTEM LOCK Locks the NVR from unauthorized user access.

    Playback

    Select SEARCH from the sub-menu. Options include: EZSearch, Time Line, Event, Go to First Time, Go to Last Time, Go to Specific Time, Archive, Log.

    EZSearch

    1. Select EZ Search and click Next.
    2. Select the Month, Date, and Channel.
    3. Thumbnails show 4 time steps: every 1 hour, 2.5 minutes, 10 seconds, and 1 second.
    4. Double-click the last image shown for playback.

    Smart Search

    1. Select the Month, Date, and Channel.
    2. Select the start time and end time to search.
    3. Set Zone as "Partial" or "Full." A Partial zone lets you select the specific area of interest.
    4. Click the selection tool after choosing "Partial," then drag to define the area.
    5. Click the right mouse button when the area selection is finished.
    6. Select "Search" to show detected motion lists on the right.
    7. Click a list entry to play it back.

    Time Line

    1. Select Time Line and click Next.
    2. Select the specific Month, Date, and click Next.
    3. Select the specific Hour, Minute, and Channel, then click Play.

    Event

    1. Select Event and click Next.
    2. Select the specific Month and Date, and click Next.
    3. Select the specific event and click Play.

    Specific Time

    1. Select "Go to Specific Time" and choose the time to begin playback.
    2. Click Play to begin.

    Export

    Go into playback mode as described above, then choose an export method:

    Export (Backup)

    1. Click Export near the bottom of the playback screen.
    2. Select the Archive Media Type and click Next:
      • Still Image: Snapshots.
      • NSF: Proprietary *.nsf video format.
      • AVI (integrated subtitle): *.avi video format.
      • AVI (separated subtitle, Mac compatible): *.avi video format.
    3. Select the media type (USB drive) and click Next.
    4. Select the specific channel and duration, then click Start.

    EZCopy

    1. Click EZCopy Start near the bottom of the playback screen to mark the start time.
    2. The DVR continues to play the recorded video; move the cursor to the end time.
    3. Click EZCopy Stop to end the data export.
    4. Select the file format and click Next.
    5. Select the specific channel and click Start.

    Event Export

    1. Go into Live mode and go to Search from the sub-menu.
    2. Select Event and click Next.
    3. Select the specific Month and Date, click Next — the list of events appears.
    4. Select the specific event and click Backup.
    5. Select the media type (USB drive) and click Backup.

    Export via Web-Browser Viewer

    1. Start Internet Explorer and enter the IP address and port of the DVR (e.g., http://192.168.80.6:80).
    2. Install the ActiveX controls/plug-ins when prompted.
    3. Click Connect and enter the IP, port, username, and password — defaults are admin/1111 and user1/1111.
    4. Click Search to go into Playback.
    5. Click EZCopy Start to mark the export start time.
    6. The DVR continues playing; move the time bar cursor to the end time.
    7. Click EZCopy End to mark the export end.
    8. Select the AVI Backup button.
    9. Select the channel and file path, then click OK.

    Viewing DVR via Mobile Devices

    The DxVT supports mobile surveillance apps for iPhone and Android.

    iPhone

    1. Search for "Speco Player" in the Apple App Store and install.
    2. Select the Add menu and enter site information; click Add to save.
    3. Select the saved site from "Devices."
    4. Select Playback/Live, then click Connect.

    Android

    1. Select the Add menu and enter site information; click Add to save.
    2. Select the saved site from "Devices" and select Live View or Playback.
    3. Select up to 4 channels to view and click "Start."

    SpecoTech Multi-Client Viewer

    A multiple-site monitoring client software allowing streaming of video and audio, and transmission of alarm signals from DVRs over the network. Can display up to 16 DVRs and supports dual monitors. PTZ camera control is supported. By attaching a microphone and speaker system to on-site devices, users may make bi-directional audio communication over the network. Refer to the complete manual for more information. The SpecoTech Multi-Client Viewer Software and manual are included on the CD.
