User manual for the SecurityMan SM-401 900MHz wireless converter kit, which turns any wired 12V CCTV camera into a wireless camera.

    Full text manual (for reference)

User manual for the SecurityMan SM-401 Wireless Converter Kit — converts any wired 12V CCTV camera into a 900MHz wireless camera, ideal for retrofitting existing wired security cameras without running cables.

    Introduction & Features

    • Turns any 12-volt wired CCTV camera into a wireless camera (900MHz)
    • Avoids the hassle of running cables
    • No interference from crowded 2.4GHz/5.8GHz devices, including Wi-Fi
    • Wireless transmission range: up to 330ft clear line of sight (100ft indoor)
    • Built-in microphone on the transmitter
    • Two-channel receiver supports up to two wireless cameras

    Package Contents

    • 1x Wireless transmitter (SM-401T)
    • 1x Wireless receiver (SM-7034)
    • 1x 8VDC power adapter (for receiver)
    • 1x Mini power cable
    • 1x AV RCA cable
    • 1x User manual

    Hardware Basics

    SM-401T Transmitter

    • BNC socket (front): connects to the wired camera's video output.
    • Antenna (back): sends the wireless signal to the receiver.
    • Microphone (back): captures audible sound up to 25ft away.
    • Power jacks (x2): use the existing wired camera's power adapter into one jack, then the included mini power cable from the second jack to the camera's power input. Supports up to 12VDC max only — NOT compatible with 24VDC-powered cameras.
    • Channel switches: supports 2 channel frequencies (default: channel 1). Avoid using the same channel in one location; if channel 1 is unstable, switch to channel 2 (or vice versa). Reception quality varies by location — reposition the receiver/camera to find the best signal.

    SM-7034 Receiver

    • Antenna, power socket, AV output, manual channel switch, channel indicator lights, and a Manual/Loop switch.
    • Manual mode: use the front Channel Switch button to toggle between channel 1 and channel 2.
    • Loop mode: the receiver auto-dwells, switching between channel 1 and 2 every 5 seconds (fixed interval).

    Installation Procedure

    1. Connect the SM-401T transmitter to the wired camera using the BNC connection.
    2. Connect the mini power cable from the SM-401T power socket to the wired camera's power input socket.
    3. Plug the wired camera's power adapter into a power outlet, and connect the power jack to the transmitter's power socket.
    4. Connect a power adapter to the receiver's power input — the receiver turns on automatically.
    5. Connect the receiver to a monitor, TV, LCD, DVR, or VCR using the AV cable (yellow = video, red = audio).
    6. Power on the monitor/TV/LCD and select the correct input/auxiliary channel (e.g. VIDEO1, VIDEO2, LINE1, LINE2). If connected to a recorder, turn the recorder on and confirm it's connected to an output monitor.

    Installation Notes

    • Avoid using other 900MHz wireless devices (e.g. cordless phones) at the same location — possible interference.
    • If the picture isn't clear, try another channel, or reposition the transmitter/receiver for better reception.
    • No more than two wireless transmitter converters should be used at one location.
    • Multiple receivers can be used at one location for monitoring multiple rooms.

    Safety & Operating Notes

    • Interference: the 900MHz camera operates on the ISM band and may interfere with other wireless equipment on the same band — turn off one device to eliminate interference.
    • RF safety: keep the product at least 1 foot away from any heart pacemaker, as radio waves may potentially interfere with such medical equipment.
    • Legal use: do not use this product to violate anyone's privacy — monitoring private activities without consent is illegal, and the product is not designed for such purposes. SecurityMan is not responsible for consequences of illegal use.
    • Environment: keep temperature between -10°C and 50°C (14°F to 122°F) and relative humidity between 20% and 80%. Avoid rapid temperature/humidity swings, direct sunlight, heat sources, aggressive chemicals, and magnetic objects. Ensure adequate ventilation around the receiver.
    • Maintenance: do not shake or strike the unit. Keep away from rain, moisture, and locations like bathrooms or pools unless well shielded. Do not exceed the load capability of wall sockets or extension cords. Do not disassemble the casing — refer servicing to qualified personnel. Switch off power during storms or extended non-use.
