Installation manual for the Seco-Larm SM-4004-TQ/W and SM-4004-LQ/W capsule-type surface-mount magnetic contacts — miniature door/window sensors for alarm systems.

• Gold-plated external screw terminals with terminal-covering tape for longer life and reliability (SM-4004-TQ only)

• SPST contact reed switch: iridium-plated for a high melting point and Vickers hardness, giving higher power handling and longer life (SM-4004-TQ); or ruthenium-on-gold underplating for longer life (SM-4004-LQ)
• For closed-loop circuits
• Gap: 1" (25mm) for SM-4004-TQ/W, 3/4" (19mm) for SM-4004-LQ/W

Installation

1. Mount the contact above the door or window on the frame. For doors, mount as far from the hinged side as possible.
2. Connect two wires to the contact terminals and to the alarm control panel.
3. Mount the magnet on the door/window facing the contact, ensuring the gap doesn't exceed 3/4" (19mm) for SM-4004-LQ/W or 1" (25mm) for SM-4004-TQ/W.

Notes

• Both the contact and magnet must be installed on the protected side of the door or window.
• Spacers are included for difficult or misaligned installations.

Lifetime limited warranty for products sold and installed in the US and Canada (1 year for all other countries). SECO-LARM's obligation is limited to repair or replacement of defective parts; the company is not responsible for removal, installation, or reinstallation costs.
