The SD-996C-NUVQ is compatible with a wide range of lock types including cylindrical, mortise, and mortise exit devices, and can be configured for wood, aluminum, or metal doors. It includes various ANSI-sized faceplates to match the door lock type and is field-configurable for fail-safe or fail-secure applications.

| Symptom | Action |
|---|---|
| Electric strike does not activate | Unmount and check the electrical connector is connected properly and to a 12 or 24VDC source. Use a multimeter to test the strike is receiving proper voltage/amperage — use heavier gauge wire or increase power supply output if not. Make sure the activation device (keypad/push-button) is working properly. |
| Door does not open when the electric strike is activated | Check that the door latch is operating properly and replace if necessary. The strike position may need adjustment — try moving it or adding washers/shims. |
| Strike makes a buzzing sound | Connect the strike to a DC power supply (it requires DC, not AC, power). |
