SECO-LARM ENFORCER Electromechanical Push Bars — heavy-duty exit push bars with double-locking spindle, available in manual or solenoid-actuated (access-control-compatible) versions.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Installation and reference guide for the SECO-LARM ENFORCER Electromechanical Push Bars (SD-961A/B/D-36GQ and solenoid-actuated SD-961A/B/D-36GSQ series). These heavy-duty exit push bars feature a double-locking spindle for stronger, more secure locking, and are available in manual (mechanical-only) or solenoid-actuated versions that can be released by an access control system.

    Installation Overview

    1. Measure and draw a horizontal centerline on the inside of the door, 40" (102cm) above the floor or per local regulations.
    2. Use the supplied metal template to mark cutting lines for the stop/strike assembly and all mounting/lock cylinder holes.
    3. Drill 3/16" (4mm) mounting holes and install the lock assembly, ensuring the spindle extends at least 3/16" (5mm).
    4. Remove the end caps to access the terminals; thread wiring through the wiring hole and install the push bar base, then connect the wiring per the diagram below.
    5. Drill the two blind nut holes (precisely 1/4"/7mm) for the strike assembly.
    6. Insert blind nuts and use the hex tool/wrench to compress them into place permanently.
    7. Install the strike assembly, maintaining a 3/16" (4-5mm) gap between the strike and end cap; use included spacers as needed.
    8. Confirm the push bar and strike operate smoothly and the locking spindle teeth fully engage the strike before tightening the two main strike screws — install the middle screw last.

    Wiring

Manual (SD-961x-36GQ) models — connect the lock status indicator (Brown = N.O., Green = COM, White = N.C.) to the lock status output; relay rated 5A @ 125VAC.

Solenoid-actuated (SD-961x-36GSQ) models — connect the push bar's PB N.O./COM terminals to the access control keypad/proximity reader's N.O./COM outputs, and connect the push bar's power terminals (–/+) to a 12/24 VAC/VDC power supply. Note: the latch retraction duration on solenoid models is controlled by the connected N.O. switch.

    Troubleshooting

    Issue Solution
Bar does not unlock when triggered (solenoid models) Check the input voltage (12~24 VAC/VDC); check that the trigger switch is operating properly
Buzzing sound when activated (solenoid models) Can happen with AC voltage — switch to DC if it persists
Device does not unlock Check back pressure on the latch and adjust

    Important Notes

    • Not weatherproof — do not mount on an exterior surface or anywhere exposed to rain.
    • Push bar mounting height may be subject to local regulations; the installer/end-user is responsible for compliance (including ADA accessibility and fire-door suitability — this push bar is NOT fire-rated).
    • Installers and users are responsible for compliance with all applicable national, state, and local laws and codes.

    Warranty
