    Note: For DC-powered electric strikes, connect the included diode as close as possible and in parallel with the strike to absorb interference. Do not use a diode with electromagnetic locks or AC-powered strikes.

    Installation Overview

    1. Choose a mounting location at a height convenient for users.
    2. Remove the security screw, then carefully slide the keypad off the housing base.
    3. Use the housing base as a template to mark and drill mounting/wiring holes (choose either pair of mounting holes; wiring hole ø3/8"/9mm minimum).
    4. Run wiring through the wall, thread through the keypad base center, and connect per the wiring chart.
    5. Mount the base with the included screws/anchors, ensuring correct orientation.
    6. Reattach the keypad to the base and secure with the security screw.
    7. For weatherproof installation, apply a bead of silicone sealant where the base meets the wall.

    Important safety note: If used with a mechanically operated door or gate, mount the unit at least 15' (5m) away to prevent users from being crushed or pinned.

    Programming Overview

    All programming is done directly on the keypad using single-digit function codes. Enter base programming mode with the master programming code (default: see manual), then press a function code to enter that function's programming mode, enter parameters, and confirm.

    Security Levels (Access Modes)

    • Card only — user must present a card.
    • Card or code (default) — either a card or a code works.
    • Card + code — both required; card assigned first gets a temporary code 8888 that must be changed before use.
    • Multiple user codes/cards — 2-9 codes/cards required in sequence (within 5 seconds of each other), no repeats.

    Adding Users

    Cards can be added individually by reading them, by entering printed card numbers, or in a large batch (up to 998 in one operation, consecutive card numbers to consecutive user IDs). A Master Add Card lets you add cards without entering programming mode at all — present it, add cards, then present it again to exit. User codes (4~6 digits) are added similarly with function code 1; the code 8888 is reserved and cannot be assigned.

    Deleting Users

    Delete individually by user ID, by user code, or by reading the card (function code 2), or use the Master Delete Card for quick deletion outside programming mode. All users can be wiped at once (retaining configuration) with the master programming code.

    Duress Codes/Cards

    Assign duress codes/cards specifically to user IDs 998 and 999 — using them unlocks the door while silently triggering the alarm. The duress alarm cannot be silenced until the programmed alarm time expires, even if a valid code is entered (it restarts the timer instead).

    Two-Door Interlock & Wiegand Modes

    Two keypads can be wired together (same wire colors in parallel) so that only one door can be unlocked at a time — enable via function code 9. The keypad can also operate as a Wiegand controller (connected to an external Wiegand reader) or as a plain Wiegand reader connected to an external access control panel — set the mode via function code 7 and the Wiegand bit format via function code 8.

    Duplicating Users to Other Keypads

    Connect up to 10 additional keypads in parallel (matching wire colors) and use function code 9 on the source unit to transfer all user data — takes about 3 minutes for 1,000 users and overwrites existing data on the receiving units.

    Troubleshooting

    Resetting to Factory Default

    Requires a connected Request-to-Exit (RTE) button. Power off, then hold the egress button while powering on for ~10 seconds until 2 beeps sound and LED turns orange; release the button. Wait ~30 seconds for the LED to turn red (reset complete), or within 30 seconds read two cards to set new Master Add/Delete cards. User information is retained through a factory reset.

    Warranty
