SECO-LARM Enforcer Outdoor No Touch Request-To-Exit Sensor (SD-9x63-KSxQ) — Manual

Manual for the SECO-LARM ENFORCER Outdoor No Touch Request-To-Exit Sensor — a full-featured IR exit plate for touchless egress, available in slimline (SD-9163-KSxQ) and single gang (SD-9263-KSxQ) plates, in English, Spanish, French, and mechanical-override variants.

Overview

Uses IR technology to allow egress from a protected area, or activate a device, with a simple wave of the hand. Being no-touch, it's ideal for hospitals, clinics, labs, cleanrooms (contamination reduction), schools, factories, and offices.

Note: Model numbers ending in "Q," or units with a round green "Q" sticker, are RoHS compliant.

Specifications

Wiring

No Touch Sensor (SD-9263-KSQ shown): Red = +12~24 VDC, Brown = Ground (-), Blue = COM, Purple = N.O., Green = N.C. The mechanical override version (KSVQ) uses the same color scheme.

Installation

1. Run four wires through the wall to a single-gang or slimline back-box.
2. Connect the four wires from the back-box to the sensor per the wiring diagram above.
3. Screw the plate into the back-box, taking care not to crimp the wires.
4. Remove the clear protective film from the sensor before use.

Warning: Do not connect any device exceeding 1A @ 30VDC.

Changing the LED Color Jumper

Slimline models: Standby: Green / Trigger: Red, or Standby: Red / Trigger: Green (default), depending on jumper placement.

Single-gang models: Standby: Green / Trigger: Red, or Standby: Red / Trigger: Green (default), depending on jumper placement.

Adjusting Sensor Range and Trigger Time

• Sensor range: 2"–7" (5–18 cm), default 7" (18 cm)
• Trigger time: 0.5–20 seconds, or toggle (turn trimpot fully clockwise), default 0.5 seconds
• Do not force the adjustment trimpots — only minimal force is needed.

Example Installation

With an Electric Door Strike (Fail-Secure, N.O.): connect the EAP-5D1Q Access Control Power Supply's Red (+) and Brown GND(-) to the sensor's Purple (N.O.) and Blue (COM) leads, and to the SECO-LARM Electric Door Strike's Red (N.O.) and Brown GND(-) terminals.

Care and Cleaning

• Use a soft, clean cloth with the mildest available cleaner.
• Spray cleaning solution onto the cloth, not directly onto the unit.
• Wipe off excess liquid — wet spots may affect sensor performance.

Warning: Incorrect mounting exposing the enclosure to rain or moisture could cause electric shock, damage the device, and void the warranty.

Warranty

Warranted against defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of sale to the original consumer customer. SECO-LARM's obligation is limited to repair or replacement; unit must be returned transportation-prepaid.
