Legrand On-Q Digital Audio System — User Guide

User guide for the Legrand On-Q Digital Audio System — a whole-home structured-wiring audio distribution system supporting up to 16 zones, streaming services, networked music libraries, and analog sources, controlled via in-wall keypads or the free On-Q Digital Audio mobile app (iOS/Android).

System Overview

The Digital Audio System distributes up to four audio sources to as many as sixteen zones, combining internet radio, streaming services, networked device content, and analog components. The system is built around the Digital Audio Distribution Module (AU7000), which distributes up to four sources to four zones; audio is digitally transmitted to each zone's Digital Audio Amplified Keypad (AU7010-XX). The system expands to up to sixteen zones using up to three Digital Audio Expansion Modules (AU7004).

Source options include the Digital Input Module (AU7001), which provides access to Pandora, Rhapsody (subscription), SiriusXM (subscription), TuneIn, and networked iTunes/Windows Media library content or NAS drive music files. Analog sources are supported via the Local Source Input (AU7008-XX) and Global Source Input (AU7007-XX).

The AU7010-XX keypad is the standard powered device, delivering 20 watts to a zone, with direct control over power, volume, mute, and source selection. It also supports a Favorite feature — press and hold the F1 button to save the current source and volume level, then recall it with a single press.

Controllers

The system can be controlled via the AU7010-XX wall keypad, or via free Android/iOS apps — search "On-Q Digital Audio" in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Enclosure-Based Modules

Required for every system: the Digital Audio Distribution Module (AU7000) and the Digital Audio Power Distribution Module (PW1020). Optional, depending on configuration:

• Digital Audio Input Module (AU7001): provides access to networked digital content and streaming services — up to 4 can be used per system.
• Digital Audio Expansion Module (AU7004): expands the system in increments of 4 zones, up to 16 zones total.

In-Wall Devices

• Digital Audio Amplified Keypad (AU7010-XX): provides zone amplification plus power on/off, volume up/down, mute, source selection, and a Favorite preset button. Available in White, Light Almond, and Nickel finishes.
• Digital Audio Global Source Input (AU7007-XX): brings an analog source (e.g. an MP3 player via 3.5mm line cable, or a cable box/gaming console via a 3.5mm-to-RCA adapter) into the system for access from ANY zone.
• Digital Audio Local Source Input (AU7008-XX): same analog input concept as the AU7007, but accessible only from the specific zone where it's connected. Selected via the keypad's Source Selection button or the app.

Using the Control App

Zones Pane (Rooms)

The app shows all available zones (rooms) in the bottom-left corner when nothing is playing. On an iPad in portrait mode, tap "Zones" to reveal the panel; on a smartphone, press the home icon to return to the zones pane once content is playing.

Sources Pane

Shown on the left side of the app, listing all configured sources (e.g. Digital Input Modules labeled "select music...", or a Global Source labeled "source 3").

Whole House Control

Global commands affecting all zones simultaneously: turn all zones off, mute/unmute all zones, or select a single source for all "on" zones.

Volume Control

Adjust via the slider fader or +/- buttons. If a single zone is playing, volume affects only that zone; if multiple zones are grouped, separate volume faders appear for each.

Digital Source Selection & Currently Playing

Select streaming services or networked/mobile-device content from the source selection panel. Once a source is chosen, its metadata displays at the top of the app. Transport controls (play/pause, thumbs up/down for Pandora, etc.) appear below when a digital source supports them — no transport controls display for analog sources.

Playing Queue

Shows upcoming track details for the currently selected source; available information varies by source.

Playing Music

1. Select a zone: press and hold a zone icon, drag it to the desired source, and release once hovering over that source.
2. Select content: tap the source pane for your zone, then choose a service/device from the center selection panel (swipe left/right to browse). Selected content then appears for playback.
3. Select a Global Source Input: drag the zone icon onto the AU7007-XX's source pane entry.
4. Select a Local Source Input: drag the zone icon onto the AU7008-XX's source pane entry (only available in the zone where that input is physically connected).

Adding Digital Streaming Services

For each service, the process is the same: go to "Add a Source" or the Settings gear, choose "I have an account" (or create a new/trial account), enter your credentials, then press Done.

• Pandora — free account supported.
• TuneIn — works with or without an account; without login, selecting TuneIn still shows radio and local-location-based choices.
• Rhapsody — paid subscription (free trial available).
• SiriusXM — paid subscription (free trial available).
• Music Libraries (NAS/iTunes/Windows Media): the easiest method is downloading the free NuVo Music Share program (PC/Mac) from Legrand.us and following its setup instructions. Alternatively, manually enter the folder path you want to access.

App Settings

Tap the gear icon (top right) to access system settings — add zones, configure streaming services, and check for software updates.

Persistent Groups

To create a group: Settings → Zones & Groups → Add New Group → select the desired zones → choose a group icon → name the group → tap Done. The new group appears on the home page.

To disband a group: Settings → Zones & Groups → select the group → Ungroup → confirm. The zones return to being individually controlled.

Zone Settings

Settings → Zones & Groups → select a zone → adjust the available options for that zone's behavior.

Naming Sources

Settings → Sources → select the source → type a name → Save. It's recommended to only name Global/Local Source Inputs (e.g. "Family Room Cable Box") since these attach to known physical devices — naming digital streaming sources is possible but not recommended.

General / About

Settings → General → About shows firmware build and IP address details for the Distribution Module or Digital Input Module, and lets you Restart or Factory Reset the module. Caution: Factory Reset requires full system reprogramming if triggered accidentally — a warning splash screen gives you a chance to cancel before confirming.

Software Updates

When an update is available for the AU7000 Distribution Module or AU7001 Input Module, a splash screen prompts you to download it. To check manually: Settings → General → Software Update → select the module → the app reports whether it's already up to date or an update is available.
