    Installation manual for the SECO-LARM ENFORCER 917MHz HL-951 Series RF Transmitters & Receivers — one- and two-channel wireless relay receivers compatible with SECO-LARM HL-Series transmitters.

    Overview

    The ENFORCER 917MHz HL-951 series uses digital modulation for improved interference immunity, better signal penetration through obstructions, and range up to 1,800 ft (550m) line of sight. Transmitters use ultra-low power consumption for long battery life with easily obtainable CR-2032 coin-type batteries.

    Note: Operating range varies greatly depending on installation and environment.

    Installation Notes

    Mount the receiver out of sight, in a location protected from weather or moisture. For optimal range, mount as high as possible and away from other electronic devices that could interfere with the signal.

    Entering Programming Mode

    1. Press the selector button for 3+ seconds — the channel LED flashes "L1" for channel 1; press the selector again to toggle to channel 2.
    2. After 2 seconds, the LED slow-flashes, displaying the number of codes already stored, and enters programming mode.

    Note: The LED flashes for a maximum of 15 seconds. If no button is pressed during that time, the receiver exits programming mode automatically.

    Learning a New Transmitter Button

    1. Enter programming mode and select the desired channel.
    2. While the LED is flashing, press the desired transmitter button once. The LED's three horizontal bars flash twice to confirm the code was learned, then automatically exit learning mode.
    3. To learn additional codes, re-enter programming mode and repeat.
    • Do not press the selector button again after entering programming mode — this jumps to output mode programming instead.
    • If a code has already been learned, the LED slowly flashes two dashes and won't re-learn it.
    • Each channel can store up to 99 transmitter button codes. Learning a 100th code deletes the earliest-learned code.

    Clear Channel Memory

    1. Enter programming mode and select the channel to clear.
    2. While the LED flashes the channel, press and hold the selector button for 3+ seconds until the indicator flashes twice — this clears all codes for that channel.
    3. Repeat for the other channel if needed.

    Display Channel Memory

    Enter programming mode and select the desired channel — the LED flashes for 15 seconds, displaying the number of codes stored in that channel's memory.

    Programming Channel Relay Output Mode

    Each channel relay can be programmed to one of five output modes (on the HL-951R2-SQ, each channel is independently programmable):

    1. P1 — 1~99 Second Timed Pulse Output (default, 1 second): Pressing the transmitter button turns the relay ON for the programmed duration.
    2. P2 — Toggle Output: Works like a toggle switch — press once to turn ON, press again to turn OFF.
    3. P3 — Latch Output: Press once and the relay turns ON and stays ON regardless of further button presses. Press the receiver's selector switch once to reset (turn OFF).
    4. P4 — Follow (Validity) Output: The relay follows the transmitter button status, staying active only while the button is pressed. Interference or low transmitter battery can cause signal loss and turn the relay off unexpectedly.
    5. P5 — 1~99 Minute Timed Pulse Output: Pressing the transmitter button turns the relay ON for the preset number of minutes.

    Selecting the Relay Output Mode

    1. Enter programming mode and select the desired channel.
    2. Press the selector button again — the LED displays the current output mode (default P1).
    3. Press the selector button repeatedly to scroll through the 5 output modes (P1 → P2 → P3 → P4 → P5 → back to P1) until the desired mode appears.
    4. In modes P1 and P5, long-press the selector button to set the number of seconds or minutes.
    5. Wait 15 seconds for the receiver to automatically exit programming mode.

    Overview — LED Display & Terminals

    The receiver's PC board (accessed by removing the front cover) has a function switch, terminal block, mode switch, and channel relay(s). The LED indicator shows:

    • General status: left dot flashes every 3–5 seconds when operating normally.
    • RF signal received: right dot lights when an RF signal is being received.
    • TX code enrollment and deletion status
    • Number of codes programmed
    • Output mode programming display

    Terminal block (HL-951R2-SQ shown): COM2 / N.C.2 / N.O.2 (Ch. 2 relay, HL-951R2-SQ only), COM1 / N.C.1 / N.O.1 (Ch. 1 relay), +VAC / −VAC (power input). The single-channel HL-951R1-SQ has the same layout but with only one mode switch, function switch, indicator LED, and channel relay.

    Selector Button Operation Reference

    Function How
    RF signal strength / site survey test mode Press briefly to enter. Pressing a transmitter channel button shows relative signal strength (0–99, 99 = strongest) at that location. The relay does not operate in this mode — press again to exit when done.
    Enter programming mode Press and hold 3+ seconds.
    Select channel for programming Entering programming mode defaults to channel 1; press again to toggle to channel 2.
    Learn code After entering programming mode, press the desired transmitter button (selector button not used again for this step).
    Delete all codes from a channel After entering programming mode, wait for the LED to show the stored code count, then press and hold the selector 3+ seconds until the LED flashes 3 stripes.
    Memory display After entering programming mode, wait 2 seconds for the LED to flash the number of codes stored.
    Programming output mode After entering programming mode, press selector again; display shows current mode (P1–P5). Press repeatedly to cycle modes.
    Programming timed pulse duration In mode P1 or P5, long-press the selector to change the seconds/minutes value.

    LED Indicator Reference

    • 8.8. flashing every 3–5 sec: receiver powered on and operating normally
    • 8.8.: a valid RF signal has been received
    • L.1. flashing: current channel being programmed
    • =.=. flash 2 times: new code learned, or all codes for the channel deleted
    • =.=. slow flashing (in programming mode): attempted code was previously learned
    • -.-. flash 2 times: exit programming mode
    • 0.0. flashing (in programming mode): number of codes (0–99) already learned for the selected channel
    • 0.0. steady (site survey mode): displays relative signal strength (0–99) when a transmitter button is pressed
    • P.1. (in output programming mode): current output mode number
    • 0.1. (in output programming mode, P1 or P5 selected): output time in seconds or minutes

    Sample Applications

    • Typical N.C. application — Electromagnetic Lock: wired to the channel's COM/NC terminals.
    • Typical N.O. application — Electric Door Strike: wired to the channel's COM/NO terminals.
    • Forward/Reverse, 2 relays — Motor control: using both channels of the HL-951R2-SQ with a 12VDC power supply for polarity reversal.
