    Installation manual for the SECO-LARM Enforcer E-941DA series double-door electromagnetic locks — including the E-941DA-600Q (600 lb), E-941DA-1K2Q (1200 lb), and the LED/Bond-Sensor equipped E-941DA-600PQ and E-941DA-1K2P models. These locks secure double doors against unauthorized entry using an anodized-aluminum electromagnet and steel armature plates, with no residual magnetism once deactivated.

    Installation Overview

    1. Fold the mounting template to form a 90° angle and locate the center of the door frame directly above where both doors meet when closed.
    2. Place the template against the door and frame; mark and drill: four holes in the frame, six holes in the door (drilling pattern varies by door type — hollow metal, reinforced, or solid core; see Specifications for hole sizes).
    3. Tap the guide pins into the armature-plate holes with a hammer.
    4. Sandwich a rubber washer between two metal washers on the armature screw, between the armature plate and the door — this allows the plate to pivot and compensate for door misalignment.
    5. Tighten the armature screws enough to resist forced entry, but loose enough to allow slight pivot. Use a thread-locking compound for a long-lasting installation.
    6. Screw the four short self-tapping screws through the mounting plate's slotted holes (don't over-tighten) — this allows adjustment so the mounting plate and armature plate form a 90° angle.
    7. Once positioned correctly, permanently mount the plate with the eight long self-tapping screws.
    8. Drill cable access holes and run power leads through the mounting plate and door frame.
    9. Remove the cover from the front of the electromagnets, push the electromagnet against the mounting plate so the ends are flush, and secure with the hex-head mounting screws using the included Allen wrench.
    10. Cut wires to length, connect to the terminal block, and set the voltage using the selection jumpers to match your input voltage (each electromagnet has its own jumper).
    11. Connect power per the wiring diagram, test the unit, then replace the front cover and install the hex-head tamper caps (do this last — they are difficult to remove once installed).

    Installation Notes & Safety

    • For indoor use ONLY.
    • Best mounted on the inside of secured doors with wiring concealed in the frame to prevent tampering.
    • Do not run power and signal wires in the same conduit — may cause interference.
    • Do not install a diode in parallel with the electromagnetic lock — this may delay door release and cause residual magnetism (the unit already includes MOV surge protection).
    • Failure to correctly set the input voltage jumper may cause damage to the lock.
    • May require Z-brackets, L-brackets, and/or spacer plates depending on door/frame type — see the accessory table below.

    Wiring & Voltage Selection

    Each lock has its own circuit board — wire and jumper each board individually. Position two jumpers over all four pins for 12VDC operation; position a jumper over the two middle pins for 24VDC operation. The Bond Status Sensor (600PQ/1K2P only) checks that the door is closed and the electromagnet is locked, reporting via the LED indicators above.

    Troubleshooting

    Symptom Check
    Doors don't lock / bond status LEDs don't illuminate Verify wires are tight on the terminal block; confirm power supply is connected and operating; check coil resistance with a meter; check the rubber washer is installed undamaged.
    Doors lock but can easily be forced open Check alignment of electromagnet/armature plates; confirm contact surfaces are clean and rust-free; verify 12VDC/24VDC is present at power leads; check coil resistance; check rubber washer.
    Delay in door releasing The electromagnet includes a metal-oxide varistor for interference suppression — do not add a second diode.
    No relay output Confirm power is connected and on; verify lock alignment; check N.O./N.C./COM wiring.

    Checking coil resistance: Remove the faceplate, disconnect the wire harness from the circuit board, and measure resistance across the Red/Green and Black/White wire pairs — each coil should test at 48Ω ±10%. If a coil shows open, short, or incorrect resistance, replace the electromagnet.

    Warranty

    Warranted against defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of sale to the original consumer. SECO-LARM's obligation is limited to repair or replacement of defective parts, transportation prepaid to SECO-LARM. Void if damage results from misuse, abuse, neglect, improper installation, or unauthorized repair/alteration.
