Installation manual for the SECO-LARM E-941DA series double-door electromagnetic lock (600-lb and 1200-lb models).
Installation manual for the SECO-LARM E-941DA series Double-Door Electromagnetic Lock — available in 600-lb (E-941DA-600Q) and 1200-lb (E-941DA-1K2Q) versions, plus LED/bond-sensor variants (E-941DA-600PQ, E-941DA-1K2P).
The E-941DA series secures double doors against unauthorized entry. When powered, the electromagnets create a strong magnetic field, attracting the steel armature plates mounted on the protected doors. When deactivated, doors open/close normally with no residual magnetism.
| Operating voltage | 12 or 24 VDC ±10% |
| Current draw (12VDC) | 500mA per door (1A total) |
| Current draw (24VDC) | 250mA per door (500mA total) |
| Coil resistance | 48Ω ±10% per coil |
| Bond sensor relay | 3A @ 12VDC |
| Magnet dimensions (600-lb) | 19-11/16" × 11/16" × 1-5/8" (500×26×40mm) |
| Magnet dimensions (1200-lb) | 21" × 1-5/8" × 2-5/8" (536×42×67mm) |
| Operating temperature | 14°~131°F (-10°~55°C) |
| Weight | 9 lbs (600-lb model) / 21 lbs (1200-lb model) |
Each door has its own circuit board — wire and jumper-program each independently. Connect switching devices (e.g. push-to-exit switches) between the power source and the positive terminal — connecting to the negative terminal can cause an unlocking delay. The bond status relay outputs N.C./COM/N.O. at 1A@24VDC.
| Voltage | 25ft | 50ft | 100ft | 200ft | 300ft | 500ft |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12VDC @500mA | 20 | 18 | 18 | 14 | 12 | — |
| 24VDC @250mA | 24 | 22 | 18 | 16 | 14 | 14 |
(Wire gauge chart abbreviated — see full PDF for all distance increments.)
| Symptom | Check |
|---|---|
| Doors do not lock | Terminal block wire connections are secure |
| Bond status LEDs do not illuminate | Power supply connected/operating; coil resistance (48Ω±10%); rubber washer installed and undamaged |
| Doors lock but can easily be forced open | Electromagnet/armature alignment; clean contact surfaces (no rust); 12/24VDC present; coil resistance; rubber washer condition |
| Delay in door releasing | Built-in MOV prevents interference — do not add a second diode |
| No relay output | Power connected/on; lock alignment; NO/NC/COM wiring correct |
Coil resistance check: Remove faceplate, disconnect wire harness from circuit board, measure resistance across Red/Green wires and Black/White wires with a meter — each coil should read 48Ω ±10%. Replace the electromagnet if either coil shows open, short, or incorrect resistance.
