    Installation Overview

    1. Use the included stencil to confirm your door meets lock specifications.
    2. Install the bolt in the unlocked position (turn clockwise and pull to extend the latch if needed). Ensure "Up" text is right-side up and secure with the supplied screws.
    3. Install the lock keypad and route its cable under the deadbolt.
    4. Ensure the rubber backing sits flush against the door, then pull the cable through the door opening below the deadbolt.
    5. Place rubber backing against the door first, followed by the metal backplate, threading the cable through the opening. Install with the supplied screws (top screw optional).
    6. Locate the Left/Right toggle on the back of the lock housing and set it to match your door's handedness (use the diagram printed in the manual to confirm left- vs. right-handed).
    7. Connect the deadbolt to the back portion of the lock, ensuring the cable pins face down.
    8. Ensure the back knob is horizontal for left-hand doors and vertical for right-hand doors.
    9. Optional autolock sensor: insert the autolock connector into the back of the lock and feed the sensor through the top rubber opening. Remove the adhesive backing and install the door sensor on both sides of the interior door frame, no more than 3/4" apart when the door is closed.
    10. Align the back of the lock with the backplate, screw the backplate onto the lock, insert 4 AA batteries, and replace the battery cover.
    11. Download the Rently Manager App, sign in, and select the "Nearby" tab.
    12. Hold your hand over the lock — the screen lights up and the lock highlights in the app. Tap "Unlock" — the door should unlock. If not, see troubleshooting below.
    13. In the Rently Manager app, tap the "Code unlock" button; the app displays a unique code. Type the code into the lock (followed by #) to unlock. If not, see troubleshooting.

    Everyday Use

    • Locking: touchscreen — press and hold # or the lock icon until the deadbolt engages.
    • Unlocking with a key: insert key and rotate until the deadbolt disengages.
    • Unlocking with a code: type the code followed by # or the unlock key.
    • Unlocking via app: pair the lock, select it, tap Unlock — you must be within 10 feet of the lock.

    Managing Access (via rently.com)

    • Vendor Codes: log in with manager credentials, select the Vendors tab, and create a new vendor. Vendor codes are only active during vacancy. Ensure the lock's serial number is printed and visible on the lock to facilitate vendor access.
    • Self-Showing Codes: assign the Bluetooth lock to the appropriate property with manager credentials, and confirm the serial number is printed and visible.
    • Resident Invite: select "Start Lease," enter the resident's email and name — they'll gain lock control via the Remot App.
