Quick install guide for the Luxul LX-P40 AC1200 WiFi Bridge + Range Extender, covering safety information, Client and Repeater mode setup, hardware/LED descriptions, and placement guidance.

    Overview

The P40's compact design allows installation almost anywhere while extending Wi-Fi signal and wireless coverage. It is designed for indoor use only — do not expose it to direct sunlight, rain, or snow.

Caution: Do not put the P40 in or near hot or humid places, like the kitchen or bathroom, and never leave it in a car during summer. The P40 will become hot during extended use — this is normal, not a malfunction — but do not place it on paper, cloth, or other flammable objects.

    Client Mode vs. Repeater Mode

    • Client Mode: The P40 connects wirelessly to your existing wireless network as a client. You then connect physically through the Ethernet port on the bottom of the P40 to whatever device needs internet connectivity.
    • Repeater Mode: The P40 acts as an access point, rebroadcasting the wireless signal from the nearest access point.

Access & Setup for Repeater Mode

Set the switch on the bottom of the P40 to "Repeater." Initiate setup one of two ways:

    • Option 1: Connect to the wireless network "repeater.setup" (no password required), then open an internet browser.
    • Option 2: Connect an Ethernet cable from your device to the Ethernet port on the P40, then open an internet browser.

Either option opens a login window. Default credentials:

    • Default IP: 192.168.1.1
    • Username: admin
    • Password: admin

After logging in, click "Continue" to start the setup wizard, or "Skip Wizard" to go straight to the main menu.

    1. The P40 scans and displays nearby wireless networks (SSIDs). Select yours and click "Continue" (use "Refresh" if your network isn't listed).
    2. Enter the exact (case-sensitive) password for that wireless network and click "Continue."
    3. You may be asked if you'd like to extend a second network on another frequency, so both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks are extended for better coverage. (This step does not appear when using the P40 as a bridge client.) Select "Yes" or "No" and follow the password prompt again if needed.
    4. Choose whether the P40 broadcasts the same wireless name (SSID) as the network being extended, or a custom SSID. Note: changing the SSID does not affect how the P40 connects to your current wireless network; this page does not appear in Client Mode.
    5. Change the admin password used to access the P40's user interface, then click "Continue."
    6. Choose whether you want the LEDs on or off, then click "Continue."
    7. After 60 seconds you'll lose access to the setup page and the P40 will be ready — you can then move it to its final location.

Access & Setup for Client Mode

Flip the switch on the bottom of the P40 to "Client."

Caution: Moving this switch will reset the P40 back to factory default.

Initiate setup the same two ways as Repeater Mode (connect to "repeater.setup" network, or via Ethernet cable), then log in with the same default credentials (IP 192.168.1.1, admin/admin). Follow the same wizard steps to select and enter the password for your existing network, change the admin password, and set LED preference.

Note: In Client Mode, the P40 will not broadcast any SSIDs — you will use the Ethernet port to connect a device. When setup is complete, you should have internet access through the Ethernet port on the P40.
