| Terminal | Meaning | Typical Wire Color |
|---|---|---|
| C | 24VAC Common | Blue |
| R | 24VAC Return | Red |
| G | Fan | Green |
| W or W1 | Aux Heat | White |
| Y or Y1 | Compressor stage 1 | Yellow |
| O (or B*) | Change Over Valve | Orange (Brown for B*) |
| Y2 | Compressor stage 2 | Black |
*If a "B" terminal with a brown wire was present, that's a changeover-with-heat heat pump system — set the changeover type to C/O Type: w/Heat in Installer Settings. Otherwise leave it at the default w/Cool.
Access the hidden Installer Settings Menu by pressing the main Menu button, then pressing and holding the middle two buttons for 5 seconds. Navigate to System Settings → Mechanical Settings.
| Setting | Options | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Type | Gas/Elec or Heat Pump | Gas/Elec |
| Fan Type (if Gas/Elec) | Gas or Electric | Gas |
| C/O Type (if Heat Pump) | w/Cool or w/Heat | w/Cool |
| 2nd Stage Heat | Y or N | N |
| Aux Heat (if Heat Pump) | Y or N | Y |
| 2nd Stage Cool | Y or N | N |
Note: If you get heating when you expected cooling (or vice versa), flip the C/O Type to the opposite setting.
An optional 4x7 schedule (4 time periods per day, each day independently configurable) is available if enabled in Installer Settings. Two preset schedules are included — Comfort (mild setbacks) and EnergyMiser (deeper setbacks) — or you can build a custom schedule. Day schedules can be copied to other days or groups of days from the schedule screen.
Verify success by checking the ZHID (Home ID) and ZNID (Node ID) in the Thermostat Info screen — an un-installed thermostat shows 000 for Node ID. If your controller doesn't support full thermostat device class functions, it can still trigger the energy-saving Away mode via BASIC_SET commands (0x00 = Away, 0xFF = revert to Home).
| Sensors Attached | Sensor Function |
|---|---|

| RS1 only | RS1 replaces internal sensor for room temp |
| RS2 (indoor type) | Averaged with internal sensor (or RS1 if attached) |
| RS2 (outdoor type) | Internal sensor used for room temp; RS2 shows outdoor temp |
