    Full User Manual for the Qubino Flush 1D Relay (model ZMNHND3), a Z-Wave Plus in-wall relay module designed to remotely control one electrical device — door locks, gate motors, garage door openers, small appliances, and similar loads — via a voltage-free (dry contact) output. It fits inside standard flush mounting boxes behind an existing wall switch and can pair with an optional digital temperature sensor for combined switching + temperature monitoring.

    Safety & Installation Warnings

    Danger of electrocution. Installation requires a licensed and qualified electrician. Even when the device is switched off, voltage may still be present at its terminals. Do not connect loads exceeding the recommended values — connect the device exactly as shown in the wiring diagrams, or risk equipment damage.

    Electrical installation must be protected by an associated overcurrent protection fuse (10A, gG or Time-lag T, rated breaking capacity 1500A — e.g. ESKA 522.727), installed per IEC60669-2-1 (fuse holder type Adele contact 503Si/1 DS).

    Installation Behind a Light Switch

    1. Turn OFF the fuse/breaker. Disconnect power at the main fuse or breaker before installation; some voltage may remain in the wires even with the breaker off — confirm no voltage is present before proceeding.
    2. Connect the device exactly according to the wiring diagrams (see Electrical Diagram section below for 110–240VAC and 24VDC wiring).
    3. Turn ON the fuse/breaker.
    4. Add the device to your Z-Wave network (see Inclusion below).
    5. Installation complete.

    Antenna note: keep the antenna as upright as possible and as far from metal elements as possible to maximize range (up to 98 ft / 30 m line of sight). Do not shorten the antenna.

    Installing the Optional Temperature Sensor (ZMNHEA1, sold separately)

    Range: -25° to +80°C (-13° to 176°F), resolution 0.1°C. Comes with a 1m (3.3 ft) cord and connector for direct attachment to the device.

    1. Exclude the device from your Z-Wave network if already included.
    2. Switch off the power supply.
    3. Connect the temperature sensor to the terminal.
    4. Place the sensor in the switch box.
    5. Turn the fuse back on.
    6. Re-include the device to your network.

    Warning: the temperature sensor should not be placed directly in water — it's designed to measure water/pipe temperature by mounting to the pipe, not immersion. When wired to 110–240VAC, the sensor must not be in direct contact with water. The sensor operates under high voltage when connected — incorrect assembly can cause electrical shock.

    Electrical Diagram Notes

    Terminal legend: N = Neutral (or +VDC on the 24VDC diagram), L = Live/Line (or -VDC), Q↓ = input for electrical device power supply, Q↑ = output for electrical device, I1 = input for switch/push button, I2 = input for switch/push button or sensor, TS = temperature sensor terminal, S = Service button.

    On 110-240VAC installs, Wago 221-413 splicing connectors must be used for L/N connections only when wired to 240VAC. The Service (S) button must NOT be used when the device is connected to a 110–240V supply.

    Durability: for resistive loads (light bulbs, etc.) at 10A, lifespan exceeds 100,000 toggles. Max Power Limit is enforced by software — if exceeded for more than 5 seconds, the output shuts off until the next module restart, and an "Over-load detected" event is sent to the gateway.

    Adding/Removing the Device (Inclusion/Exclusion)

    Auto-Inclusion

    1. Enable add/remove mode on your Z-Wave gateway.
    2. Connect the device to power (with temperature sensor already connected, if used).
    3. Auto-inclusion begins within 5 seconds and the device enrolls automatically.

    Manual Inclusion

    1. Enable add/remove mode on the gateway.
    2. Connect the device to power.
    3. Toggle the switch on I1 three times within 3 seconds (3 push-button presses or 6 toggle-switch presses) — or, on 24V SELV supply, press and hold the Service (S) button 2–6 seconds.
    4. A new multi-channel device appears on your dashboard.

    Exclusion

    Connect the device to power, ensure it's within range of the gateway (or use a hand-held Z-Wave remote), enable add/remove mode, then toggle I1 three times within 3 seconds (or hold the S button 2–6 seconds on 24V SELV supply). Custom configuration parameters are retained after exclusion.

    Factory Reset

    Within the first 60 seconds of power connection, toggle the I1 switch 5 times within 3 seconds (or hold the S button more than 6 seconds on 24V SELV supply). This restores all parameters to default and deletes the owner ID — use only when the gateway is missing or inoperable.

    Associations

    Use associations for direct device-to-device communication without the primary gateway.

    • Root device: Group 1 Lifeline (1 node); Group 2 Basic on/off for Q1 load (16 nodes); Group 3 Basic on/off for I2 input (16 nodes); Group 4 Binary sensor for I2 (16 nodes); Group 5 Notification report for I2 (16 nodes); Group 6 Multilevel sensor report from external temperature sensor (16 nodes).
    • Endpoint 1 (Wall Switch I1): Group 1 Lifeline; Group 2 Basic on/off for Q1 load.
    • Endpoint 2 (Wall Switch I2): Group 1 Lifeline; Group 2 Basic on/off; Group 3 Binary sensor; Group 4 Notification report.
    • Endpoint 3 (External Temperature Sensor): Group 1 Lifeline; Group 2 Multilevel sensor report.

    Frequency Variants

    The Flush 1D Relay ships in multiple ordering codes (ZMNHND1 through ZMNHNDE), each tuned to a different regional Z-Wave frequency (868.1–923.7 MHz depending on region) — all share the same 50/60Hz power supply frequency. Check your gateway's supported Z-Wave region before ordering.
