Installation guide and owner’s manual for the PCS PulseWorx TCM Telephone Control Module.
Installation guide and owner's manual for the PCS PulseWorx TCM Telephone Control Module — a plug-in home automation controller that transmits UPB (Universal Powerline Bus) commands over existing power wiring whenever the telephone rings.
The TCM Telephone Control Module is a high-quality plug-in home automation controller capable of transmitting UPB digital commands over existing power wiring to remotely turn other UPB devices on and off whenever the telephone rings. The TCM can be located anywhere a wall power outlet exists throughout the home. Only limited additional wiring is required, and no radio frequency signals are used for communication.
The TCM is designed for indoor use with standard telephone equipment.
PCS has developed a Powerline Interface Module (PIM) and free UPStart software to configure all PulseWorx Lighting System devices. The UPStart User's Guide is available on the PulseWorx website (www.PulseWorx.com).
Select Device → Add in UPStart Setup Software. UPStart will find your TCM and allow you to name it.
Double-click the TCM icon to begin configuration. Select the Transmit Components tab to begin configuring what to control.
On the Transmit Components tab, select one link to be controlled for each channel.
On the Transmit Components tab, press the Mode button and select a Sense Mode. Note: for the TCM, it's highly recommended to keep this as "N.O. Link Activator."
A sense channel can be enabled (active) or disabled (suspended) by a UPB Link command received by the TCM. On the Receive Components tab, specify the Link to control the sensing channel — it will be suspended by a DEACTIVATE or GOTO 0% command, and activated by an ACTIVATE or GOTO >0% command for that link.
Once configuration is complete, press the Program Device button to program the information into the TCM.
When configuring a UPB system, place the TCM in SETUP mode by pressing the Program Button 5 times rapidly. The Status LED will continuously blink Blue while in SETUP mode. To exit, press the Program Button 2 more times, or wait 5 minutes for it to time out.
Once installed and configured, the TCM operates on its stored configuration without further user intervention. Whenever the telephone rings, the TCM transmits the configured UPB command onto the powerline.
