Quick start guide for the PCS PulseWorx SimpleWorx Wall Switch Products — WST (Wall Switch Transmitter), WSR (Wall Switch Relay/Receiver), and RWS (Remote Wall Switch).

Function

SimpleWorx products provide simple remote control for lighting and other electrical loads without running new wiring. They communicate over existing electrical power wires by "linking" a Transmitter to one or more Receivers. One Transmitter can link to as many Receivers as needed; each Receiver can link to up to eight Transmitters.

The WS Series (WST, WSR) allows local rocker switch control and can remotely control the load of any linked SimpleWorx receiving device. The RWS acts as a secondary Decora-style rocker switch, replacing or creating a three-way lighting control circuit by connecting to the WST or WSR through a single yellow traveler wire.

Important Safety Instructions

• Do not use this product for other than its intended purpose.
• Keep away from water. If the product contacts water or another liquid, turn off the circuit breaker and remove the product immediately.
• Never use products that have been dropped or damaged.
• Do not use this product outdoors.
• Do not cover this product with any material when in use.

Installation

1. Before installing the Wall Switch into a wall box, ensure power has been disconnected by removing the fuse or turning off the circuit breaker. Installing products while power is on may expose you to dangerous voltage and may damage the product.
2. Remove the faceplate from the existing wall switch, then unscrew and pull the existing switch out of the wall box.
3. Disconnect the wires from the existing wall switch. Identify the "Line," "Neutral," "Load," and "Control/Traveler" wires.
4. Wire the SimpleWorx Wall Switch and any RWS connecting wires per the wiring diagram. Cap off any unused wires from the device.
5. Gently place the wires and Wall Switch into the wall box, with the LED at the top of the device. Screw in place.
6. Before installing the faceplate, restore power to the circuit and test the device for proper local operation.
7. After testing, re-install the faceplate cover(s).

Multi-Way Circuits

The Wall Switch is wired directly to the lighting circuit and can optionally be controlled by one or more RWS Remote Wall Switches, producing three-, four-, or five-way circuits so a group of switches can control the same set of lights.

• Refer to the WST/WSR wiring diagrams to determine wire colors for the connections.
• All PCS Wall Switches require a neutral (white) connection.
• Remote Wall Switches require that the Line (black) wire be accessible; this wire may be connected to either phase of the 120/240V supply.
• The gray wire on the Remote Wall Switch may be connected to either earth ground or neutral — it only lights the LED in the remote (acting as a night-light) and does not indicate anything else.

Operation — Linking a Transmitter to a Receiver

Any SimpleWorx transmitter can remotely control one or more SimpleWorx Receivers by "linking" the two together:

1. At the SimpleWorx Transmitter, press and hold the Link button for 6 seconds. The LED flashes GREEN and flashes its load (if connected).
2. At the SimpleWorx Receiver, press and hold the rocker switch or link button for 6 seconds. The LED flashes GREEN and flashes its load (if connected).
3. Within 30 seconds, the Receiver indicates the two devices have automatically LINKED when the LED stops flashing and then flashes its load once.
4. The Transmitter may be taken out of LINK mode by tapping its rocker switch or link button once — the LED stops flashing and flashes its load (if connected). Note: the transmitter automatically times out of LINK mode after 5 minutes.

The North American ETL Listed mark signifies the product has met the requirements of a widely recognized consensus of US and Canadian product safety standards, that the manufacturing site has been audited, and that the manufacturer follows a program of quarterly factory follow-up inspections.

Limited Warranty
