    Installation guide for the PulseWorx LDS-120V LED Dimming Stabilizer — a smart electronic load resistor that resolves LED fixtures/bulbs that flicker or fail to turn off completely at certain dim levels.

    Why You'd Need an LDS-120V

    Installing an LDS-120V in parallel with an LED load frequently eliminates flickering and incomplete-off issues common with LED dimming.

    Ratings

    • 120VAC, 1.8W
    • LED max load if LDS-120V is installed in the box behind the dimmer:
      • 400W if (1) LDS installed in a single-gang box
      • 300W if (2) LDS installed in a single-gang box
      • 400W if (2) LDS installed in a double-gang box

    Wiring Configurations

    • Connected at the dimmer: the LDS-120V wires in parallel between the wall dimmer switch's LOAD/NEUTRAL leads, upstream of the LED fixtures.
    • Connected at the fixture end of the circuit: the LDS-120V wires in parallel at the LED fixture end, between LOAD and NEUTRAL.
    • Multiple LDS-120V units: additional units can be added in parallel on the same circuit (see load ratings above for gang-box limits).

    Critical wiring note: the load resistor must be installed in PARALLEL with the LED — wired between the switch's load wire (RED) and neutral wire (WHITE). If incorrectly wired in SERIES with the load instead, the LED will simply stay off permanently (this will not damage the resistor, switch, or LED, but the LED will never turn on).

    Installation Steps

    Note: Installation must be performed only by a qualified electrician, with the circuit breaker off, in accordance with all applicable codes including the National Electrical Code (NEC).

    1. Turn off power at the main breaker panel.
    2. Locate the load (red) and neutral (white) wires, either behind the dimmer location or at the LED fixture location.
    3. Install the LDS-120V between the two wires. It can be wired in either lead direction but must be in parallel with the LED light.
    4. Use appropriate wire nuts to make a solid electrical connection; secure the wires and the LDS-120V's placement.
    5. The LDS-120V has high resistance, dissipates 1.8W, and is designed to be wired directly across 120VAC.
