On-Q/Legrand lyriQ AU7396 — Single Source 4 Zone Audio Distribution Hub Installation Sheet

Installation instructions for the On-Q/Legrand lyriQ™ Single Source 4 Zone Audio Distribution Hub (PN AU7396) — a central wiring hub for the lyriQ™ whole-house audio system, distributing power and audio over Category 5 cable to lyriQ™ volume controls and source inputs.

Overview

• Distributes audio and power to lyriQ™ Volume Controls and Single Source Inputs via RJ-45 (Category 5) connections

• Requires a 24V, 2.5A power supply (PN F7723) — sold separately

Installation

Installation happens in two phases: "Rough-in" (before drywall) and "Trim-out" (after drywall, before painting is complete). Read all manuals for associated lyriQ™ components before installing any single piece.

Rough-in Steps

1. Run a Category 5 cable from the room location containing the lyriQ™ Single Source Input (typically the entertainment center) to the lyriQ™ Audio Distribution Hub location in the enclosure.
2. Run Category 5 cables from each room location containing a lyriQ™ Volume Control to the Distribution Hub location in the enclosure.
3. For future flexibility, also run a 16/2 or 16/4 speaker cable alongside the Category 5 cable to each volume control location.

Trim-out Steps

1. Make sure the power supply is not connected to the Distribution Hub before starting.
2. Attach the Hub to its included bracket using the 4 corner plungers, then insert the bracket tabs into the enclosure slots and secure with the bracket push-pin.
3. Terminate all Category 5 cables with RJ-45 plugs using the T568A wiring standard.
4. Connect the lyriQ™ Single Source Input AUDIO OUT jack via a Category 5 jumper (e.g. 36" PN 363201-30) to a wall jack with an RJ-45 insert, which in turn wires to the SOURCE IN jack on the Hub.
5. Connect the Category 5 cables from the Volume Control room locations to the Zone Output jacks on the Hub.
6. If cascading multiple hubs, connect a Category 5 jumper from the CASCADE OUT jack on one Hub to the SOURCE IN jack on the next.
7. Plug the 24V power supply cable into the Power jack on the Hub.
8. Verify system functionality.

Safety Precautions

• Read all instructions carefully before installing the lyriQ™ Audio System.
• Do not service, move, or change any component unless qualified to do so.
• Installation must be performed by a qualified installer and conform to local building and electrical codes.
• Do not apply power until all components are installed and all wiring is properly terminated.
• Before changing or removing any wiring, turn off power at the Hub and unplug the power transformer.
• Keep components away from heat sources (HVAC ducts/registers, stoves, etc).
• Do not expose indoor-rated components to moisture — this can create electrical hazards and voids the warranty.
• Clean cover plates only with a damp cloth — never use vacuum cleaners, liquid, or aerosol cleaners.
