Overview

The 6-Port Network Interface Module provides a convenient structured interconnect for residential networking. It has six Category 5e-rated RJ45 connectors, typically punched down to room locations. Services such as internet access over a switch/router are jumpered to the locations using front panel jacks (jumpers sold separately). The module ships with a mounting bracket and is typically installed in an On-Q Service Center Enclosure. It also supports Bay-style mounting for higher-density multi-bay bracket applications.

Note: Part number AC1001 is also available — same module without inserts, allowing use of any dealer-selected keystone inserts.

Installation Steps

1. Punch down Cat 5e cables from room locations onto the RJ45 inserts, following T568A wiring recommendations. Use of a punch-down tool (such as the On-Q Palm Tool, P/N 364378-01) is recommended.
2. Install the punched-down inserts into the front plate.
3. Attach the plate to the included bracket using push pins at each corner.
4. Install the bracket into an On-Q style enclosure using the On-Q style tabs and pushpin — or, for higher-density installs, into a Bay-style multi-bay bracket.
