    Product overview for the NuVo NV-LSA40 Local Source Amplifier — a compact 40-watt stereo amplifier designed to add local audio source amplification behind flat-screen TVs and in NuVo Audio Distribution Systems.

    Why a Local Source Amplifier?

    Flat-screen TVs deliver great picture but weak sound. The NV-LSA40 fixes that by adding a dedicated 40-watt stereo amplifier that can drive standalone speakers from any line-level source — MP3 players, PCs, game consoles, or any other device that benefits from real audio amplification behind the screen.

    Design

    • Fits into a standard single-gang electrical box — hides discreetly behind a flat-screen TV.
    • Audio-sensing amplifier: automatically responds to (and powers on for) the incoming signal from the local audio source.
    • 20 watts per channel, drives any 6 or 8 ohm speaker.

    Two Versions

    • NV-LSA40S: For independent, standalone use with a line-level audio source and its own local power supply.
    • NV-LSA40PDS: For multi-amplifier installations, using a central power distribution hub instead of individual local power supplies per unit.

    Integration with NuVo Systems

    The LSA40S can also be wired into a NuVo Audio Distribution System (e.g., NV-E6DX / NV-E6DEZP / NV-I8DM whole-home audio matrix). Any NuVo System zone output can be wired to the LSA40S. A two-conductor voltage-trigger wire runs from the LSA40 to the NuVo zone keypad: when the zone is turned ON, NuVo system audio passes through to the zone speakers; when the zone is turned OFF, the LSA40's internal amplifier automatically engages instead — so the same speakers seamlessly switch between the whole-home audio system and the local source behind the TV.

    Connections (LSA40P version)

    • Input terminal block: (+)/(−) audio input, plus a 28VDC/1.5A control voltage input (labeled "IN," "CM")
    • Output terminal block: L+/L− and R+/R− to speaker
    • Powered by an included 50-watt AC power adapter

    Wiring Note

    When wiring into a multi-zone NuVo distribution amplifier chassis (e.g., NV-E6DX / NV-E6DEZP / NV-I8DM), use NuVo's own SLC1 cable for source-link connections and NC1 cable for network connections, per the labeling on the distribution amp's rear panel.
