  • FortrezZ MIMO2+ — MIMO2Config Configuration Helper Manual

    August 31, 2026 2 min read

FortrezZ MIMO2+ Z-Wave interface/bridge module — MIMO2Config Windows utility for setting input thresholds and relay parameters.

    Full text manual (for reference)

The FortrezZ MIMO2Config Utility is a Windows configuration helper for the MIMO2+ module — a Z-Wave interface/bridge device that converts wired or wireless inputs to wired or wireless outputs. The utility calculates the configuration parameters you then enter into your Z-Wave controller to program the MIMO2+.

    System Requirements

    • Microsoft Windows (XP or later)
    • A Z-Wave controller to send configuration parameters to the MIMO2+ (via the Z-Wave Configuration Command Class 'Set Command')
    • Basic familiarity with your Z-Wave controller and network setup

    Installation

    1. Download and unzip MIMO2configInstaller.zip from www.fortrezz.com.
    2. Open the MIMO2configInstaller directory and double-click setup.exe.
    3. If an earlier version is already installed, the installer uninstalls it first — run setup.exe again afterward to complete the install.

    How It Works

The utility presents multiple tabbed configuration screens. As you make selections, the corresponding Z-Wave configuration parameters are automatically calculated and shown on the final tab — these are the values you enter into your controller to send to the MIMO2+.

    Input Signal Settings (SIG1 / SIG2)

Configuration parameters 3-8 (SIG1) and 9-14 (SIG2) set the triggering thresholds for the two inputs. Adjust via sliders, direct value entry (volts), or up/down arrows.

    • Blue zone: triggered range
    • Gray zone: un-triggered range
    • Green zone (hysteresis): the input stays in its current triggered/un-triggered state while transitioning through this zone, preventing chatter at the threshold boundary
    • Invalid slider positions (e.g. Lower Threshold High below Lower Threshold Low) are auto-corrected to a mid-point
    • Other Settings: configure periodic status reports (in 30-second steps) or change-of-state reports; pulse count reports on a periodic basis or change threshold (in 10-count steps)

Note: periodic/change reports also depend on association configuration (Group 1, Lifeline) — both the configuration parameter and the association must be set up via your controller.

    Relay Settings (REL1 / REL2)

    Configures relay behavior — parameters 1 (REL1) and 2 (REL2):

    • Latched vs. momentary: a non-zero value in the top field makes the relay momentary — it releases after the set time (seconds, 0.1s resolution) instead of staying latched.
    • Auto-trigger: a second field lets SIG1 and/or SIG2 automatically trigger the relay output, overriding Z-Wave commands when set.

    Output Parameters

The final tab displays the calculated parameter values to enter into your controller. A slider toggles the display between decimal and hexadecimal format — some controllers require one or the other.

    Notes

    • Refer to the MIMO2+ Technical Appendix documentation on www.fortrezz.com for full parameter details.
    • MIMO2+ does not validate values internally — ensure all values are correctly sent to avoid erroneous thresholds.
    • Your selections are remembered between sessions of the MIMO2Config utility.
