    Specifications for the NAPCO 2WAY-UNIVKF — a pocket-size, 2-way universal LCD keyfob designed to work with most major alarm panel brands.

    Overview

    The 2WAY-UNIVKF is the security industry's first and only universal bi-directional keyfob with an LCD status display and integral mini sounder, supported by a dedicated receiver. It's designed to be compatible with most major control panel brands, including NAPCO's Gemini and Magnum lines, as well as ADEMCO, DSC, ITI, and others. In addition to standard system commands, it can control up to 2 groups of lighting control (such as X-10) and up to 2 separate garage doors.

    System status is indicated with 8 intuitive icons (lock, house, flame, etc.) on the LCD display, plus corresponding beep sequences on the mini sounder — giving the user clear visual and audible confirmation that a command was carried out.

    The keyfob is also sold in a kit with a dedicated 2-way receiver (Model 2WAY-UNIVKFKIT). Each receiver supports up to 7 keyfobs.

    Command Buttons

    Button Function
    STATUS Press to display current system status. Hold down to enable Status Mode, continually indicating alarm status changes visually and audibly.
    ON/OFF Press to Arm "Away." Hold down 2 seconds to Arm "Stay."
    PANIC Hold down 2 seconds to activate a panic alarm.
    GARAGE DOOR (*) Press to activate Garage Door 1 (on-board Relay 3). Hold 2 seconds to either toggle Relay Control Group 2 / on-board Relay 2 (default), or activate Garage Door 2 control (Relay 2, programmable).
    ON/OFF + DOOR (simultaneous press) Toggles Relay Control Group 1 and on-board Relay 1.

    • Connection: Operates on either the panel bus or keyswitch input, depending on control panel brand (consult WI1024 for details). With bus connection (e.g. Gemini and others), the keyfob uses no zones — up to 7 keyfobs are independently logged. With keyswitch connection, the keyfob uses one zone for keyswitch and one zone for panic (if desired).
