Quick Install Guide for the Luxul AGS-1024 — a 24-port Gigabit unmanaged network switch, rack-mountable or desktop.

    What's Included

    • One AGS-1024 24-Port Gigabit Switch
    • Two rack-mounting ears
    • Four rubber feet
    • One power cable

    1. Physical Installation

The AGS-1024 can be rack-mounted or used as a desktop switch. Install it in a stable, safe place away from possible damage or direct sunlight. Don't place heavy items on top of it, and verify the outlet's ground connection is functioning properly.

    Desktop/Shelf Installation

Attach the four rubber feet to the corner indentations on the bottom of the switch, then place it horizontally on a solid, level platform.

    Rack Installation

Use the included L-brackets for mounting in a 19-inch server or audio/video rack. Attach the L-shaped brackets to both sides of the AGS-1024 using four screws, then install the switch horizontally in the rack using your own mounting hardware.

    2. Connecting Ethernet and Power

Use any RJ-45 cable to connect the AGS-1024 to an Ethernet-enabled device (servers, routers, or other switches) — no crossover cable is needed. It supports 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet: 10/100 Mbps half/full-duplex and 1000 Mbps full-duplex.

Use the included power cable to connect the switch to a surge-protected outlet. The AC input socket and power switch are on the rear panel. The built-in power supply supports 100–240VAC at 50/60Hz.

Caution: use only the correct power cord for your environment — any voltage other than the standard 100–240V range will damage the AGS-1024.

    3. Connecting Devices

Use an Ethernet cable to connect the AGS-1024 to a device. Luxul recommends Category-5, super Category-5, or Category-6 unshielded twisted pair (CAT5/CAT5e/CAT6 UTP); for the best performance and stable 1000 Mbps data transmission, use Category-6 shielded twisted pair. The switch automatically adjusts to the connected device's speed and duplex mode. When a device is properly connected and powered, its Link/Activity LED lights up.

    4. Connecting to a Router or Other Switch

Use an Ethernet cable to connect the AGS-1024 to a router or other switch. The AGS-1024 automatically adjusts to the connected switch/router's speed and duplex — no uplink cable is necessary. When properly connected, the Link/Activity LED for that port lights up.

    5. Hardware Operation

The front panel features one Power LED and a Link/Activity LED for each port. The back panel includes 24 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45 ports, a power connector, and a switch to select blue or green front-panel LEDs. Each Ethernet port has one LED indicating both link/activity and connection speed.

Use the switch on the rear panel of the AGS-1024 to select either blue or green for the Power and System LEDs on the front panel, to best match the equipment sharing rack space.

    Regulatory

This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules — operation is subject to (1) not causing harmful interference, and (2) accepting any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Luxul (14203 Minuteman Drive, Suite 201, Draper, Utah, 84020) declares the AGS-1024 complies with the essential requirements of Directive 1995/5/EC. Industry Canada: CAN ICES-3(B)/NMB-3(B).
