Overview

Vizia RF + wireless lighting and home control technology provides dramatic scene transitions, extended zone lighting controls, industry-standard 2-way status updating, and true integration of household electrical devices — reducing energy consumption for new construction or existing homes, condominiums, and apartments.

A Vizia RF + Programming device or ThinkEssentials® Professional Edition Software is required as an installation tool for setting up a Leviton Vizia RF + network. Leviton system features — creating and operating scheduled events, extended system testing, and system optimization — can only be accessed using one of these devices. Once a Vizia RF + network is installed, the handheld remote controller (VRCPG) can also be used as a wireless controller to activate events and control the system. Each programming device creates a unique Z-Wave® home ID, allowing multiple Z-Wave networks to operate in the same local area.

The RF Handheld Remote Controller Programmer uses the Z-Wave RF protocol to control other Z-Wave enabled devices, including in-wall dimmers, switches, and plug-in dimming/appliance modules. ThinkEssentials Professional Edition by ControlThink® is the premier programming tool for the Z-Wave Professional Installer — a full suite of tools to install, optimize, integrate, and maintain a high-performance Vizia RF + system.

Installation Considerations

A Z-Wave enabled device must be within 75 feet (open air) of another Z-Wave enabled device to participate in a Z-Wave wireless mesh network. Any one switch can be associated with no more than 5 controller devices. Each ON/OFF button on an RF controller can be associated with up to 32 select Z-Wave compatible devices in a system area. A neutral wire is required on selected devices. For full functionality of the Vizia RF + Network, at least one Leviton recommended programming device should be used.
