Getting Started Guide for the Leviton Decora Smart No-Neutral Switch (Cat. No. DN15S) — a retrofit smart lighting solution for homes without Neutral wiring, paired with a Decora Smart Wi-Fi Bridge for voice/app control.

Overview

The Decora Smart No-Neutral Switch pairs with a Decora Smart Wi-Fi Bridge (MLWSB) to control lighting via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Siri, or the My Leviton app — even away from home. Features intuitive ON/OFF control and looks right at home with other Decora brand in-wall devices.

• Do NOT use with aluminum wire or metal wallplates.
• Installation in metal wall boxes or with metal wallplates may cause poor RF performance.

Features

• Rocker: press the top to turn the light ON, the bottom to turn it OFF.
• Status LED illuminates when lights are OFF, for finding the switch in the dark, and provides connectivity/device status feedback.
• Advanced settings available in the My Leviton app.

What You Need

• A Decora Smart Wi-Fi Bridge (MLWSB) installed and connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network with high-speed internet.
• An iOS (12.0+) or Android (8.0+) mobile device with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled.
• A My Leviton cloud account (set up through the app).
• Line, Load, and Earth Ground wires are required — no Neutral wire needed.

Note: A MLWSB Wi-Fi Bridge provides up to 2,500 sq ft coverage and should be within 50 ft of the switch. One Bridge supports up to 25 total devices, including DN6HD Dimmer, DN15S Switch, and DAWDC/DAWSC Anywhere Companions, plus up to 6 Anywhere Companions paired to associated Decora Smart No-Neutral devices. If your electrical box does have Neutral wires available, you can alternatively use a Decora Smart Wi-Fi 2nd Gen Switch (DZ15S) to enable smart features without requiring a Wi-Fi Bridge.

Installation

1. Before you install: To control from more than one location (3-way/multi-way), use a wireless DAWSC Anywhere Switch Companion device.
2. Identify your wires: Warning — turn off power at the circuit breaker. Remove wallplate and disconnect existing switch. Restore power and test wires with a voltage tester to find the Line (Hot) wire, then turn off power at the breaker again. Mark the wires as shown — this product is designed to work without a Neutral wire; Line, Load, and Earth Ground connections are required. If no Ground connection is available, contact Leviton Technical Support or consult an electrician.
3. Wire your switch (single pole): Work on only one connection at a time; connect wires as shown using included wire connectors.
4. Test and install: Restore power — Status LED should flash GREEN. Turn power off at the breaker again before screwing in the switch. Push wires into the wall box, screw switch to box, snap on the Decora wallplate, restore power. Status LED blinks GREEN, indicating Setup mode.
5. Get the app: Visit my.leviton.com or scan the QR code for your device.
6. Device setup: The switch pairs to a Wi-Fi Bridge for connectivity to My Leviton, Apple HomeKit, or both. Use the app to pair the switch (DN15S) to your Wi-Fi Bridge (MLWSB). Amazon Alexa/Google Assistant voice control requires pairing to a Bridge enrolled in My Leviton; Siri requires pairing to a Bridge added to HomeKit.
7. Connect your switch to a Bridge with My Leviton: Ensure a MLWSB is installed within range; verify the switch is in Setup mode (LED blinking GREEN); launch the app; log in or sign up; tap "+" > "Add Device"; follow app instructions to connect to the Bridge. (Select "Use with HomeKit Only" during sign-up if you don't want a My Leviton account.)

Connect to My Leviton Partners (Optional)

When connected to a Wi-Fi Bridge, the switch works with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant, IFTTT, and more. Tap the menu icon > Integrations, locate the desired service, and follow instructions.

Pair an Anywhere Companion

1. Make sure your Wi-Fi Bridge is enrolled in My Leviton and your No-Neutral device is paired to your Wi-Fi Bridge.
2. Place the Anywhere Companion in Pairing mode by pressing the top rocker 5 times — its Status LED will blink GREEN.
3. Place the primary No-Neutral device into Pairing mode by pressing the top rocker 5 times — the Status LED will flash GREEN/AMBER.
4. The device will automatically pair to the Companion in wireless RF range via the Wi-Fi Bridge — quick GREEN flash confirms success.

Status LED Reference

Factory default reset: Hold the top rocker for 14 seconds — Status LED turns AMBER after 7 seconds, continue holding until it quickly flashes RED/AMBER, then release.

What to Do If...

• Switch is wired and installed, but light doesn't respond: Confirm power is restored at the breaker and wiring connections are correct.
• Power applied, light OFF and doesn't respond: For proper operation, the switch needs a Line (Hot), Load, and Ground connection.
• Not connected/intermittent connection to the Bridge: Make sure the MLWSB is in range and powered; move it closer if possible.
• Pairing to a different Wi-Fi Bridge: Confirm the MLWSB is in range and powered; in the app, go to the switch's device settings, select "Reconfigure Wireless," and follow the in-app instructions.
• Cleaning: Use a damp cloth with mild soap. Do NOT use disinfecting products, foggers, sprays, or other atomized cleaning agents.

Safety First

• To avoid fire, shock, or death, turn off power at the circuit breaker/fuse and test that power is off before wiring.
• To avoid fire, personal injury, or property damage, do NOT install to control a receptacle.
• For indoor use only. Recommended minimum wall box depth: 2-3/4 in. Use with copper or copper-clad wire only.
