Legrand On-Q Whole House Lighting Controller (LC7001) — User Guide

Complete user guide for the Legrand On-Q Whole House Lighting Controller (LC7001), covering setup, remote access, voice control integration, and the Legrand Lighting Control app.

Overview

The LC7001 is compatible with all dimmer, switch, and scene controller products in both the radiant® (RF Lighting Control) and adorne® (Wi-Fi Ready) collections, including legacy DRD2x dimmers, DRD3x switches, and DRD4x dimmers (the DRD9x fan speed controller is discoverable as a dimmer, offering adjustable speed control only). The LC7001 works with the Legrand Lighting Control iOS/Android app and the Samsung ARTIK™ Cloud platform to provide uninterrupted control and automation. Connecting the LC7001 to your home network via Ethernet and using the app lets you:

• Manage your home lighting system
• Set up to 100 manual and automated scenes
• Perform RF Lighting Control device discovery for up to 100 devices

RF Lighting Control devices offer a default range of 100 ft. between devices. An MRR2-G repeater extends this by 100 ft.; the system supports up to two repeaters for a maximum range of 300 ft. between devices. When logged into Samsung ARTIK Cloud, you can control the system remotely (e.g., at work or on vacation).

Prerequisites

• Proper installation, configuration, and house/group binding of all system components (per each device's instructions) prior to installing the LC7001
• A wired connection to the home network router or switch
• Mobile devices running the Legrand Lighting Control app connected to the same home network as the LC7001 for setup
• Legrand Lighting Control app version 1.3+ required for Apple Watch support

Setting Up Remote Access (Samsung ARTIK™ Cloud)

Samsung ARTIK Cloud provides a pathway for the LC7001 to communicate with your lighting devices when accessing the app from outside your home network, and enables voice control through Amazon Alexa and Google Home. This is optional and compatible with Android devices (iOS support was pending at time of publication). Requires app/firmware version 2.0 or later.

1. Log into the Legrand Lighting Control app; choose Yes at the remote access setup prompt (or navigate to Settings > Remote Access Info > Remote Access Setup).
2. Sign in using Samsung, Google, NAVER, or an existing email account (create a new password to link an existing account).
3. Enter the requested profile information and grant ARTIK Cloud permission to integrate with your system.
4. Confirm the activation email sent to your account address, then return to the app and sign into your Samsung ARTIK Cloud account if prompted (use cellular data or an alternate Wi-Fi network if not prompted).

Amazon Alexa Voice Control Integration

Prerequisites: an Alexa-enabled device (e.g. Amazon Echo) on the home network, the LC7001, the Amazon Alexa app, an Internet connection, the Legrand Lighting Control app (v2.0+), and an active Samsung ARTIK Cloud account integrated with the LC7001.

Connecting Alexa

1. Open the Alexa app > Skills, search for "ARTIK".
2. Select "Samsung ARTIK Cloud Optimized for Smart Home" and tap Enable.
3. Sign in to your Samsung ARTIK Cloud account.
4. After the successful link message, close the window and return to Skills.
5. Choose "Discover Devices" to import your Legrand devices into Alexa (can take up to 20 seconds; must be repeated whenever new devices are added — Smart Home > Your Devices > Discover Devices).

Grouping Devices

In the Alexa app, go to Smart Home > Create Group, name the group, select the devices, and save. Groups let you control multiple devices with a single command (e.g., a "basement" group).

Supported Commands

Alexa supports both switching and dimming commands. All devices in a group respond to switching commands, but only dimmable devices respond to dimming commands.

• "Alexa, turn [my/the] [device/group name] [on/off]"
• "Alexa, turn [on/off] [my/the] [device/group name]"
• "Alexa, set [my/the] [device/group name] to [on/off]"
• "Alexa, brighten/dim [my/the] [device/group name] to [1–100%]"
• "Alexa, set [my/the] [device/group name] to [1–100%]"
• General "Alexa, dim/brighten my [device or group]" — adjusts dimmable devices by 25%

Google Home Voice Control Integration

Prerequisites: a Google Home device, the LC7001, the latest Google Home app, the latest Google app (Android only), a Google account, an Internet connection, the Legrand Lighting Control app (v2.0+), and an active Samsung ARTIK Cloud account integrated with the LC7001.

Connecting Google Home

1. Open the Google Home app, verify the linked Google Account (switch accounts if needed).
2. Select Home Control > Devices tab > Add.
3. Choose "Samsung ARTIK Cloud" and follow the steps to grant permission for the integration.
4. Tap "Got It" after the successful integration message.

Assign devices to Rooms in the Google Home app for single-command control (see Google's Home app support documentation for Rooms setup).

Supported Commands

• "Ok Google, turn on <light/room name>" — turn a light on/off
• "Ok Google, set <light/room name> to 50%" — set brightness to a percentage
• "Ok Google, dim/brighten the <light/room name>" — adjusts to 45% for dimmable devices
• "Ok Google, dim/brighten <light/room name> to 50%" — dim/brighten to a specific percentage
• "Ok Google, turn <on/off> everything" — turn all lights on/off

Legrand Lighting Control App

System Discovery / Adding Devices

System discovery starts automatically the first time you open the app. Tap a device to discover it, then name it; repeat for each device (all RF lighting devices must be house/group bound before installing the LC7001). The LC7001 supports up to 100 devices.

Dashboard

The dashboard provides: Turn All Lights ON/OFF (press-and-hold gradually ramps brightness to full; swipe left/right to raise/lower brightness of all devices at once), View Recent/Upcoming Scenes (upcoming shows scenes set within the next two days), and navigation to the Lights, Scenes, and Settings pages.

Lights Page

Shows each device's ON/OFF status and current brightness. From here you can:

• Edit a device's name or remove it from the system
• Add (+) a new device (tap the physical device to add it, then name it)
• Tap a device name to open its individual page: toggle ON/OFF, double-tap to toggle, edit/remove, or adjust the brightness slider

Note: sliders appear only for dimmer switches. Adjusting a slider while the device is OFF changes the brightness for the next time it's turned ON, not immediately — turn the device ON first for immediate changes.

Scenes Page — Adding a Scene

1. Tap "+", name the scene, and save.
2. Select Repeat: Never (manual trigger only), Once (runs automatically one time), or Weekly (repeats on chosen days/time).
3. Set the Date (or, for Weekly, the Days of the week).
4. Set the Time: a specific hour/minute/AM-PM, or a relative time (minutes before/at/after sunrise or sunset).
5. Check the devices to include in the scene; tap a device name to set its individual ON/OFF state and brightness for that scene.
6. Set the Fade Rate — higher values make the scene ramp up/down more slowly when triggered. (When a Legrand Scene Controller button is set to "Toggle Scene ON/OFF," the fade rate applies only when turning the scene ON; the system default rate applies to turning it OFF, and this is not adjustable.)
7. Save. The scene appears under "Upcoming Scenes" if scheduled within the next two days.

Editing a Scene

From the dashboard, choose Scenes > Edit, tap the scene, then choose Delete, Duplicate, or tap the scene name to change its Name, Repeat settings, Fade Rate, or individual device settings.

Settings

• Location: enables automatic sunrise/sunset time calculation (requires Internet connection and location permission), or manually enter address/zip code.
• Time Zone: select your time zone from the list.
• Daylight Saving Time: toggle "Observe Daylight Savings Time" on/off.
• Firmware update: manual updates are optional — updates happen automatically by default.
• App version: displayed next to the App Version option.

In-Wall Scene Controllers

Legrand Scene Controllers let you manually trigger LC7001 scenes. The LC7001 supports up to 40 compatible scene controllers. Bind each controller to the House ID before adding it to the app.

Compatible controllers: adorne® sofTap and Touch Scene Controllers (ADTPRIWHCW1, ADTPRIWHCM1, ADTHRIWHCW1, ADTHRIWHCM1) and radiant® Scene Controllers (LC2303-WH, LC2303-LA, LC2303-NI). Not compatible with Legrand RFLC DRD5, DRD6, MRH5, MRH6, or adorne® ADMHRM4 (these can still control RF lighting devices directly but are independent of LC7001 scenes).

Adding a Scene Controller

1. Create the scene in the app first.
2. In Settings, select In-Wall Scene Controllers, tap "+".
3. Push any button on the controller face, name it, and save.

Assigning Scenes to Banks (Buttons)

Tap the controller name, then tap a Bank to see available scenes; check the desired scene, then choose a behavior:

• Execute Scene: pressing the button runs the scene at its saved brightness levels. The LED flashes slowly during initiation and stops once activated.
• Toggle Scene ON/OFF: pressing the button turns the scene ON (LED flashes, then lights solid once active); pressing again turns it OFF (LED flashes, then turns off). With multiple "Toggle" buttons, the currently active scene shows a bright LED while other ON-but-inactive scenes show a dimmed LED. Adjust the active scene's brightness with the controller's "+"/"−" buttons (press-and-hold does not work for this).

Save changes at the Bank level, then repeat for remaining banks. To remove a controller: Settings > In-Wall Scene Controllers > Edit > tap the controller > Delete.

Apple Watch Operation

Requires Legrand Lighting Control app v2.0+ and LC7001 firmware v2.1+. Pair the Apple Watch to an iPhone connected to the same network as the LC7001 (Remote Access is not supported on Apple Watch). Displays up to 20 devices and 20 scenes.

• Force-press (press and hold firmly) the Lights or Scenes screen to access: turn all devices ON/OFF, or toggle between Lights/Scenes views.
• Lights screen: toggle switch color indicates status (blue = ON); tap a device name for the detailed view with a brightness slider (dimmers only) — adjust with +/− in 5% increments, or force-press for a preset brightness menu (four presets; selecting one while OFF turns the device on to that level). Swipe left/right to move between devices.
• Scenes screen: tap a scene name to execute it.

The app orders devices/scenes by frequency of use, with most-used items near the top.
