    Full text manual (for reference)

Installation and operation manual for the Inovonics EN1223S EchoStream® Water-Resistant Single-Button Pendant Transmitter — Inovonics' smallest, lightest, and most versatile pendant transmitter for wireless alarm/security systems.

    Overview

The EN1223S is a compact water-resistant (non-submersible) single-button pendant transmitter designed for professional security installations. It's intended for indoor use and should be manually tested weekly.

    Transmitter Components

    • Transmit LED — blinks during transmission
    • Reset button — used for battery reset and frequency configuration
    • Frequency band selection pins — jumper pins for regional frequency configuration

    Installing / Replacing the Battery

    1. If present, remove the 3 housing screws on the back of the transmitter.
    2. Open the housing.
    3. Install the new battery, ensuring the positive terminal (+) faces the indicated side of the holder.
    4. Allow 30 seconds for the capacitor to charge, then press Reset.

Note: When the battery is removed, the transmitter may continue to operate or report a low battery until all energy is discharged from the capacitor.

Battery type: Renata CR2450 or Panasonic CR2450 (BAT609). Typical battery life: 3–5 years.

    Selecting the Frequency Band

EchoStream products must be configured for your geographic region:

    1. Place a selection jumper on the appropriate frequency band pins:
      • Right two pins (marked NZ) → 921–928 MHz for New Zealand
      • Left two pins (marked AU) → 915–928 MHz for Australia
      • No jumper → 902–928 MHz for North America
    2. Press the Reset button to complete configuration.

Caution: When pressing Reset, avoid also touching the frequency band selection pins — this can inadvertently set the wrong frequency band.

    Registering the Transmitter

The transmitter must be registered with your security system to be monitored and supervised. Once registered/supervised, it sends a check-in message to the serial receiver or network coordinator every three minutes. Each transmitter has a unique factory-programmed identification number. Refer to your receiver's installation instructions for registration steps — typically, when prompted by the receiver to reset the transmitter, press the Reset button.

Caution: Test the transmitter after registration by activating each alarm condition and confirming the appropriate response.

    Operating the Transmitter

Press the button for at least one second to activate. Alarm signals transmit multiple times, indicated by the blinking transmission LED. Releasing the button sends an alarm restoral signal.
