Quick Start Guide for HAVEN Connect — a Bluetooth-enabled portable door barrier lock, 10x stronger than a standard deadbolt.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Quick Start Guide for HAVEN Connect — a high-strength, Bluetooth-enabled portable door barrier lock that mounts at the base of a door to resist forced entry.

    Overview

HAVEN Connect is a floor-mounted, Bluetooth-controlled security bar designed as a physical barrier to prevent a closed door from being forced inward when blunt force is applied near the outside handle. It's a supplemental layer of home security — not a replacement for existing locks, alarms, or other security measures. It does not prevent entry via other means (special tools, removing the door, etc.), and HavenLock recommends replacing the unit after any attempted break-in.

    What's in the Box

    • HAVEN Connect — the lock unit, mounted at the base of your door.
    • Installation Riser — optional, for thresholds higher than 0.8"; also used as an alignment/drilling template.
    • Power Adapter — 120V AC USB adapter for the included charging cable.
    • Charging Cable — USB cable to charge the unit.
    • Door Spacer — plastic spacer used during installation to measure proper distance from the base of the door.
    • Installation Screws (6) — Phillips head, for attaching to a wood floor (see install.havenlock.com for tile/concrete installs).
    • Key Fob (optional) — included if purchased, or orderable separately.

    Preparing Your HAVEN Connect

    1. Charging

Plug the charging cable into the power adapter, open the HAVEN control panel cover, and plug into the Charging Port. Allow 6–8 hours to fully charge before use. Use this time to set up your account at www.myhavenlock.com or in the mobile app.

    2. Cycling the Lock

Before installation, cycle the lock (lock/unlock via the foot pedal and lock gate) a minimum of 10 times — this stretches and calibrates the internal nylon straps, which can settle during shipment. Also cycle the lock via the key fob or app at least 5 times to ensure the servo motor is properly engaged.

    3. Remove the Locking Gate Cover

When ready to mount, remove the 4 small Phillips-head screws on the back of the locking gate cover.

    Mobile App Setup

    1. Get prepped: download the HAVEN Lock App from the App Store or Google Play (www.havenlock.com/android or /apple). Set up an account and make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device.
    2. Launch app and set up account: follow on-screen steps; a confirmation email is sent (check spam if not received within 5–10 minutes).
    3. Prepare to pair: log in, tap the "+" icon, select "Pair A Device," and follow the prompts.
    4. Make HAVEN discoverable: open the control panel and press-and-release (don't hold) the Admin button. Once the LED flashes, touch your phone to the lock to complete pairing.
    5. Name your lock: once paired, name the lock (e.g. "Front Door") and tap "Complete Setup."

Setting Up the Generation 2 Key Fob (purchased separately)

    Pairing

    1. Hold down the fob's Lock button for 15 seconds (previously 5 seconds on older fobs).
    2. If the fob's LED flashes red/blue, it's already paired — release the Lock button and stop (see Unpairing if you need to re-pair).
    3. If the fob's LED flashes green: press and release the HavenLock Admin button, then quickly press and release the fob's Lock button. Both LEDs should flash white and HAVEN will beep to confirm successful pairing.

    Unpairing

    1. Hold the fob's Lock button for 15 seconds until its LED flashes red/blue, then release.
    2. Within 5 seconds, press and hold the Unlock button for 10 seconds until the LED starts blinking white.
    3. Within 5 seconds of that, press and release the Lock button once more to complete unpairing.

Note: key fobs made before October 1, 2019 use a different pair/unpair sequence.

    Installation

Tools required: power drill, pencil, Phillips screwdriver, measuring tape, the 6 included installation screws, a 1/8" drill bit, and a Phillips drill bit.

    Installation Overview

    1. Measure: center the lock on the door and confirm height.
    2. Drill: drill pilot holes and clean the surface.
    3. Secure: place the unit and drill in the screws.

    General Notes

    Bluetooth Range

HAVEN Connect communicates with the Key Fob, smartphone app, and HAVEN Hub via Bluetooth. Theoretical range is 100m (328 ft), but effective range drops with obstacles — assume an effective range of about 50 meters (160 ft).

    Layered Security

HAVEN is meant as a supplemental security layer, not a total solution. Pair it with cameras, motion sensors, alarm monitoring, and vibration sensors as part of a broader home security plan.

    Personal Security

HAVEN can't prevent you from sending a guest pass (eKey) to the wrong person, can't prevent your phone from being stolen, and can't keep your password secure — proactive personal responsibility is essential.

    Important Safeguards

    • Charge low batteries immediately — the main battery lasts 3–5 months per charge under normal use; charge every 2–3 months.
    • Protect your password; don't share it with anyone you don't fully trust.
    • Be careful who you grant eKey access to — as admin, giving access to the wrong person means they can enter your home.
    • Your smartphone is effectively your key and control panel — treat its security like your home security (password-protect it).
    • If your smartphone is lost/stolen, deactivate it via the web portal (www.myhavenlock.com). If your key fob is lost/stolen, reset the lock by holding the Admin Button for 10 seconds (until it flashes green), or email support@havenlock.com.
    • Turn on notifications in both the HAVEN app and your smartphone settings to track lock activity and admin actions.

    Troubleshooting

    Issue Fix
Won't turn on / no power indication Make sure it's fully charged (and backup batteries inserted, on pre-2019 models). Press the Admin Button under the control panel hood — the LED should illuminate. If not, contact support@havenlock.com.
Won't fit under door / doesn't reach the base Visit the detailed install guide at install.havenlock.com for uncommon door/threshold sizes.
How do I turn it off? It's designed to stay "always on" to receive Bluetooth commands; it enters power-saving mode after several minutes but never fully powers off.
Foot pedal won't engage Press near the top of the pedal, inward with your toes first — it's angle-sensitive by design to prevent false locking by kids or pets. Takes some practice.
Need a factory reset Hold both the Admin and Reset buttons, then release only the Reset button while continuing to hold Admin for 10 seconds. Takes about a minute to complete and restores original firmware, disconnecting all paired devices.
Can't pair key fob or app Reset everything and retry: hold the Admin Button for 10 seconds (until LED flashes green), hold the fob's Lock button for 10 seconds, and delete the paired lock from the app's settings. Then repeat pairing.
Key fob LED won't light Likely a dead fob battery — contact support@havenlock.com.
