User's manual for the Hanna Products Mail Chime Model 1200, a wireless mailbox door alert system.

    Full text manual (for reference)

User's manual for the Hanna Products Mail Chime™ Model 1200 — a wireless mailbox alert system that notifies you inside the house when your mailbox door opens.

    How It Works

When the mailbox door is opened, the Receiver in the house buzzes four times and displays a red LED light. After retrieving your mail, press the reset button to clear the alert.

    Package Contents

    • Transmitter (mounts on mailbox door)
    • Receiver (Hanna Products Inc.)
    • AC adaptor
    • 12-volt A23 battery (available at most drug/battery stores)

    Setup Instructions

    1. Remove the transmitter's top case by removing the four screws.
    2. Place the battery into the battery holder — make sure the positive end faces toward the knob at the end of the case.
    3. Reassemble the case using the four screws.
    4. Set the dial for your mailbox type (see dial settings below).
    5. Peel the protective cover off the double-faced tape on the bottom of the Transmitter and attach it to your mailbox door, noting the direction of the arrows.
    6. Plug the AC adaptor into the back of the Receiver and into a wall outlet.
    7. Straighten the Receiver's antenna vertically.
    8. Adjust the volume control knob on the back of the Receiver — you can turn the sound off and rely on just the LED light if preferred.
    9. Press the reset button to turn off the red light — do not hold it down for more than 1–2 seconds.

    Dial Settings by Mailbox Type

    • Curb side: Set dial to #4 — mount with arrows on Transmitter pointing up toward the top of the mailbox door.
    • Wall mounted, large tapered lid: Set dial to #3 — mount with arrows pointing up.
    • Wall mounted, short tapered lid / flat top: Set dial to #2 — mount with arrows pointing up.
    • Slot type: Set dial to #4 — mount with arrows on Transmitter pointing up toward the hinge.

    Troubleshooting

    • Check that the Transmitter is mounted correctly on your mailbox.
    • For a curb-side mailbox, verify the arrows point toward you when you open the mailbox door.
    • Check that the battery is installed correctly (positive end toward the knob).
    • Check that your mailbox is level.
    • Try moving the Receiver to a different location.
    • Units are matched sets — if you buy a replacement unit, do not mix the new Transmitter/Receiver with an old one.
